00:09All new London buses built since 2021 have been zero emission.
00:14After having just 30 electric buses in 2016, zero emission models now make up a third of TfL's bus fleet
00:22and are expected to double in number before the end of the decade.
00:26Up to a year ago, TfL had a target for all 9,000 of its buses to be zero emission
00:33by that point.
00:35It says the transition could be accelerated with more government funding.
00:39The lighting at all 12,000 bus shelters in London has been converted to LEDs to also reduce carbon emissions.
00:46Sir Sadiq, who chairs Transport for London, said he is proud that London is leading the charge in sustainable transport,
00:53with 3,000 of the city's iconic red buses now going green, which is 100 times more than when he
01:01took office in 2016 and one of the largest zero emission bus fleets in Europe.
01:07The mayor also added that over the last decade as mayor, he's worked with TfL to take the bus network
01:14from strength to strength,
01:16creating new services such as the game-changing Superloop and boosting zero and low emission buses to help clean up
01:23the capital's air and support climate goals.
