00:00I think Russia has long been emboldened in its attacks in the UK.
00:03Great sympathy with the Prime Minister and his family, and I'm very sorry for what they went through.
00:07I think we do need to ask serious questions about how those attacks got so close to the Prime Minister's
00:13properties.
00:14I'm concerned about his safety and the safety of future Prime Ministers.
00:19It was very good to see the Marines doing such a good job boarding that ghost ship in our waters.
00:26But again, if you want the country to be safe in the long term, you have to invest in defence
00:32properly.
00:34Conservatives have said that if we were in power right now, we'd take defence spending to 3% of GDP,
00:39and we'd make an even bigger long-term commitment.
00:42And that's not happening under this government.
00:45And our concern is that by the end of this Parliament, British defences will be depleted to the point where
00:52we can't keep ourselves safe,
00:53we can't keep our allies safe, and that will make the world a more dangerous place.
