The Perfect Stone is a narrative rock song inspired by John 8:3-11, the account of the woman brought before the Pharisees, accused of adultery.

The story is told through the eyes of an ordinary man in the crowd—someone who arrived at the Temple expecting justice, eager to take part in the condemnation. In his hand is a smooth river stone he has saved for just such an occasion.

When challenged with the words, "Let the one without sin be the first to throw," the crowd begins to disperse. Yet the narrator leaves with an uncomfortable question still unresolved.

This song explores judgment, self-righteousness, mercy, and the uneasy recognition that the faults we condemn in others may reveal something about ourselves.
