00:20The ink isn't even dry.
00:23A historic U.S.-Iran deal, brokered by Pakistan, endorsed by Washington,
00:28declares an immediate and permanent ceasefire on all fronts.
00:33And yet, since dawn today, the bombs in Lebanon haven't stopped.
00:37Here's what happened.
00:39Pakistani Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif announced a memorandum of understanding
00:44between the United States and Iran, one of the most significant diplomatic breakthroughs in years.
00:49The deal? Stop all military operations, reopen the Strait of Hormuz,
00:55begin nuclear talks within 60 days.
00:58Iran's own foreign minister confirmed it.
01:01This agreement covers Lebanon, Hezbollah included.
01:04A signing ceremony is being planned in Switzerland as we speak.
01:08But there's one major problem.
01:10Israel was never at the table, and Israel doesn't feel bound by it.
01:15While diplomats were still shaking hands, Israeli artillery was already striking villages across southern Lebanon.
01:22Nabatea, Zautar, Khafer-Tibnit, just hours after the deal was announced.
01:28Demolition crews blew up homes and infrastructure near Bint Jabil.
01:32And on the main road connecting Haris and Tibnin,
01:35a bobi-trapped armored vehicle was remotely detonated by Israeli forces.
01:40This isn't a misunderstanding.
01:42Israeli officials have explicitly said they will continue operations against Hezbollah, regardless of the MOU.
01:49So, what does this mean?
01:52Iran signed a deal promising to rein in its proxies.
01:56The U.S. brokered it.
01:58Trump reportedly commented on the timing himself.
02:00But if Israel keeps striking and Hezbollah retaliates, who's responsible for breaking the ceasefire?
02:07Iran gets blamed for not controlling Hezbollah.
02:10Hezbollah gets provoked into responding, and the deal quietly unravels.
02:15Whether that's intentional or not, the effect is the same.
02:19This is the fundamental flaw in any agreement that excludes Israel.
02:24You can get Tehran to sign, you can get Washington to witness it,
02:28but if Tel Aviv is still running active operations on the same front, the ceasefire exists only on paper.
02:35Civilians in southern Lebanon are learning that lesson this morning, again.
02:39Will Washington now pressure Israel to stand down or quietly look the other way
02:45while the deal it just brokered gets dismantled village by village?
02:50Trump made a deal.
02:51Israel may be the one who kills it.
