00:00I'm going to dig into the Iran peace deal in just a minute, but the whole thing was nearly
00:04literally blown up after Israel conducted fresh airstrikes on Lebanon over the weekend.
00:09Iran has repeatedly been furious over similar attacks and has said any more will destroy
00:14plans for peace. True to form, these latest attacks reportedly infuriated Iranian leaders
00:20and prompted President Trump to ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, quote,
00:24what the F are you doing? The president recounted this interaction on Fox News and basically said
00:29he's acting as peacemaker, adding that he would also speak with Iran to ask them not to retaliate
00:35against Israel. Those strikes near Beirut were prompted, Israel says, by Hezbollah firing shots
00:40towards Israeli territory. Now, Trump weighed in publicly again on Sunday, posting, quote,
00:46this morning's attack on Beirut should not have happened, particularly on a special day when we
00:50are so close to a peace deal with Iran. Israel has the right to defend itself against threats,
00:55but the attack it was responding to was very small and meaningless.
01:00Thank you for listening.
