00:00How much has the UN really succeeded when it comes to climate change?
00:05Because it is a question of consumption at its core.
00:07And you cannot address the question of consumption without talking of the consumer who he really is.
00:12And that is a spiritual question.
00:14More importantly and more embarrassingly for the UN, that's a Vedantic question.
00:20Vedanta asks a very fundamental question.
00:24For whom?
00:25The question is, for whom is consumption?
00:28Who is the consumer?
00:29That's the question in Vedanta.
00:31Consumption is for the sake of the one you call as I.
00:35If it is done for the I, then it is extremely important to keep asking,
00:41has consumption really benefited the I?
00:44That particular country consumes so much of coal.
00:47What do you use the coal for?
00:50That's the Vedantic question.
00:52And has that kind of usage benefited you?
00:54All that has happened is that you have taken in a lot of coal and this and that and cement
00:59and raised this building, done that, burnt fuel here, cut forests there.
01:04How has any of that benefited you really?
01:07That's the Vedantic question to ask.
01:09Will I ever ask what I am really hungry for?
01:13The moment I do that, my life choices will change.
01:16That's what Vedanta teaches.
01:18Don't just ask a question.
01:19First, be very careful about the questioner.
