Did you know K2 is more dangerous than even Mount Everest? K2 is often called the "Savage Mountain." It’s a place where even the most seasoned climbers face relentless storms, steep and icy slopes, and a chilling reality. There is no margin for error. Here, on these treacherous ridges and snowfields, some of the bravest women climbers in history met their untimely and tragic ends.
On Everest, roughly 1 in 16 climbers don’t make it out alive. But on K2, that number jumps to 4 in 16. 25 percent of climbers don’t survive. Not great odds - and for the women on our list today, a collection of horrible fates.
