NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is facing growing scrutiny after Senator Elizabeth Warren questioned the company’s expanding chip sales to China, warning of potential national security risks. Warren argues that advanced AI technology could strengthen strategic rivals while raising concerns about economic disruption at home. She says Americans deserve answers about NVIDIA’s role in the global AI race and the export of high-end chips. The controversy comes as NVIDIA pursues major opportunities in China, fueling debate over whether U.S. economic gains are being balanced against long-term security concerns in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence sector.

00:00China is also working feverishly to develop AI, including AI weapons systems that can
00:07be turned against the United States.
00:10One company, NVIDIA, makes the chips that are powering AI's advances.
00:18In recent years, NVIDIA's valuation has ballooned to nearly $5 trillion.
00:23That makes NVIDIA the world's biggest company and NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, a very powerful
00:32person.
00:34And Mr. Huang wants to sell NVIDIA's chips to China, which will profit his own company
00:40and advance China's AI development.
00:44Now I invited NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, to testify at this hearing and he refused to
00:50join us.
00:51I invited Mr. Huang because he and NVIDIA are lobbying hard to get a blank check from
00:59the Trump administration to allow the sale of advanced chips to China.
01:04Mr. Huang's efforts have alarmed senior military leaders here in the United States who have
01:10warned that such technology could strengthen China's military and put our own national security
01:19at risk.
01:20risk.
01:20No matter.
01:21In Trump's D.C., money talks and President Trump appears to be giving policy handouts to
01:29the highest bidder.
01:31If it's not plain old-fashioned bribery, it sure smells like it.
01:36Mr. Huang and NVIDIA have been active here in D.C.
01:40NVIDIA donated a million dollars to the Trump inauguration.
01:44Mr. Huang made a big donation to Trump's favorite project, his gold-encrusted ballroom.
01:50Mr. Huang wheeled his way into a seat on Air Force One on the President's summit with President
01:57Xi in China.
01:59Mr. Huang even managed to score a meeting with President Xi himself along with President Trump
02:05about NVIDIA's business interests.
02:08All that sucking up to the President has paid off big time for Mr. Huang.
02:14Mr. Huang had strong export controls that would have blocked NVIDIA from selling these chips to China, but the Trump
02:23administration is relaxing these rules.
02:26The Trump administration has also turned a blind eye as massive numbers of these chips have been sold elsewhere, then
02:35somehow magically made it to China.
02:38The American people deserve to hear Mr. Huang answer hard questions from both sides about the role he has played
02:48in undermining our national security.
02:52A.I. holds tremendous promise, but Americans are rightly concerned that it could further rig our economy.
03:01Congress can no longer be a bystander as the risks from A.I. grow nearer and millions more American chips
03:10are sent to China.
03:12It is time for Congress to stand up so that the American people can share in the success of this
03:18technology and not just be left holding the bag for whatever goes wrong.
