00:00Welcome back.
00:01U.S. tech giant NVIDIA says it will soon resume sales of its high-end AI chips to China.
00:08CEO Jensen Huang says the U.S. government has assured the company
00:12that it will issue licenses needed to restart exports to the world's second-largest economy.
00:19This reversed an April ban by the Trump administration on NVIDIA's H2O chips,
00:24aimed at keeping advanced tech from China due to national security concerns.
00:28The H2O was tailored for China after the Biden administration imposed export curbs back in
00:342023. NVIDIA also unveiled a new chip for China, the RTX Pro GPU, which it said complied with U.S.
00:42export controls. Huang also gave his assurance that any NVIDIA chips would not be used by the
00:47Chinese military, as doing so would risk the U.S. cutting off access at any time.
00:52The announcement came as U.S.-China trade tensions eased.
00:56Beijing had recently loosened rare-earth export controls,
00:59while Washington lifted curbs on chip design software firms operating in China.
