00:00Fit to walk the streets and I should leave her be.
00:02Soft on crime, Tim, that's what they are.
00:04Soft on crime.
00:05Good morning.
00:06Well, it would be if you were locked up.
00:08What did you say?
00:09You heard.
00:10Just ignore her, love.
00:12Love?
00:13Love?
00:15It's nicer to be free, though, isn't it, Tim?
00:18Breathing the good, clean air.
00:20Yeah, yeah, of course it is.
00:22What on earth is she talking about?
00:25I've got no idea.
00:27Right, I'll pop home after work,
00:29so make sure you...
00:30People, some of...
00:32It's my line.
00:33Abraham Lincoln, they carved his head into a mountain.
00:35Yes, yes, we know who Abraham Lincoln is.
00:37Well, thanks to your vigilance,
00:39the streets are crawling with riffraff.
00:41Isn't that right, Jenny?
00:43Sitting here amongst you is a lady
00:45who should really be doing time for kidnap.
00:48Don't rise to it, love.
00:50I, for one, believe in giving people a second chance.
00:54Well, that's where you and I differ, Mr Cole.
00:57Once a sinner, always a sinner.
01:00So what about your husband, Sally?
01:02What about my husband?
01:04Well, how do you feel about his incarceration
01:07for his part in the poll tax riots?
01:17Absolutely not true, is it, Tim?
01:19Well, yeah, but I, I...
01:20You, you, what?
01:22Forgotten?
01:23Were you arrested during the poll tax riots or not?
01:25If we could confine our questions to the candidates.
01:28Oh, with respect,
01:29my opponent has placed her family
01:32at the very heart of her campaign.
01:34Yeah, he's got a point.
01:35So come on, then.
01:37Let's hear it.
01:38Are you a jailbird or what?
01:40Yeah, but I don't see why I should...
01:41Perhaps for the sake of clarity,
01:43you should clear this up so we could move on.
01:45Yeah, but it's not as bad as a...
01:46It's a very straightforward question
01:47requiring a straightforward answer, yes or no.
01:50Yeah, but it's not as bad as a...
01:50Yes or no!
01:51It was...
01:52It was a lot...
01:53It was a misunderstanding a long time ago.
01:56Right, so we'll take that as a yes, then.
01:59It's true.
02:00Well, yeah, but I only spent the night in a cell.
02:02I didn't go to prison.
02:03So much for family values.
02:06And you can wipe that smile off your face right now, lady.
02:09Come on.
02:10We'll go it.
02:15Well, I, for one, admire a man
02:16who's willing to stand up for his own principles.
02:23Why couldn't you leave it alone?
02:25Oh, I'm sorry, Rita,
02:26but she doesn't now but port me with the sticks
02:28since the moment I came back.
02:30Oh, that's right.
02:31Run away.
02:33I'm not running anywhere.
02:34You had that coming.
02:36In the East, they call it karma.
02:38Yeah, and round here,
02:39we call it being a spiteful, vindictive cow.
02:43But I just hope the champagne and bunting are returnable.
02:46Oh!
02:46Whoops, Sally, come on!
02:47Hey!
02:48Violence won't solve anything.
02:49Oh, it's a pity you didn't say that 25 years back, isn't it?
02:52Carrying on like that in public make a fine pair.
02:55She's like John Prescott in heels.
02:57Oh, now there's a thought.
02:58I mean, is this what you want from your counsellor?
03:01She right it is.
03:02If you question time with this good, people might start watching it.
03:04I won't forget this.
03:06That was kind of the plan.
03:08Come on, you, home.
03:09Huh?
03:11I just wanted to apologise to anybody who was at the hostings tonight.
03:16I let my emotions get the better of me.
03:19But like all of you, I'm only human.
03:22I do make mistakes.
03:23Yeah, well, me and all, but you never cut me any slack.
03:26Just leave it.
03:27Yeah, well, you're selfish.
03:29I did what I did because I care about my husband and my family and this community.
03:35And sometimes those instincts can drive you to make a bad decision.
03:40Like it did my husband.
03:42Think you've been a bit hard on yourself there, Sal?
03:45I'm talking about his arrest.
03:48Tim has political convictions.
03:51We heard all about him tonight.
03:53He had principles and ideas that he was prepared to give up his liberty for.
03:58And as such, I'm proud of him.
04:00Because he follows in the footsteps of Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi.
04:08All right, Sal, do they have window-cleaning rounds and all?
04:14Tim Metcalfe was willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of other people.
04:20And I'm not ashamed of that.
04:22I'm proud of that.
04:24I'm inspired by it.
04:27And if you give me this opportunity on election day,
04:31I will make any sacrifice, face any hardship,
04:35in the service of the people of this great ward.
04:50Hey, stickability.
04:52I should look it up when you get home.
04:54I should look it up when you get home.
04:54I should look it up when you get home.
04:54I should look it up when you get home.
04:54I should look it up when you get home.
04:54I should look it up when you get home.
