00:00The smart mobility revolution in Italy starts in Naples.
00:04The Naples' Tancanziale has become Italy's first road infrastructure
00:07to earn official smart road certification from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
00:12The network utilizes advanced technology for real-time monitoring
00:16and communication with connected and self-driving vehicles.
00:20This initiative stems from a partnership between Tancanziale di Napoli,
00:25the National Center for Sustainable Mobility and the ASFI Group.
00:30The project transforms one of the southern Italy's primary urban arteries
00:33into a national model for transport innovation.
00:37Sensors capable of collecting traffic data have been installed along the entire network,
00:41used by traffic control center operators in traffic management decisions.
00:45This approach enables preventive action reducing congestion.
00:49In addition, weather stations and dedicated sensors collect data on rainfall,
00:54pavement condition, water levels and surrounding land conditions
00:57to detect potential flooding, landslides or other hazardous phenomena at an early stage.
01:05What's really new is that connected vehicles can directly receive information about accidents,
01:11construction sites, obstacles, weather conditions and road characteristics,
01:16while at the same time transmitting data to the infrastructure
01:19for much more immediate knowledge of traffic conditions.
