00:02So I had a little bit of a nightmare last night where I had to leave my park up at
00:06half past midnight.
00:07I didn't end up getting to sleep till about 3am in the end so I'm quite tired today.
00:12I'll explain what happened later but for now let's hit the road.
00:18This week you'll find me in North Wales, specifically the Clyn Peninsula.
00:22The peninsula stretches about 30 miles into the Irish Sea from mainland Wales.
00:27Much of the coastline is protected as the Clyn area of outstanding natural beauty.
00:33Designated in 1956 because of its dramatic cliffs, beaches and the wildlife here.
00:39My plan for this vlog is to go for a cold water dip and visit the Trefo Sea Stacks for
00:44sunset.
00:45So why not grab a brew, sit back and join me as I share the real and beautiful reality of
00:50my life on the road.
01:14I've just arrived at a spot where I want to go for a wild swim and it is looking super
01:18busy here even though it is really early in the morning.
01:20So I think we're just going to get ready really quickly and go.
01:41I just about managed to grab the last parking space available here even though it is super early in the
01:46morning.
01:47Before we go I want to say a quick thank you to today's sponsor which is Saley.
01:51When you're travelling full time in a van and constantly crossing borders through Europe, having reliable internet is very important.
01:58I need it for my sat nav, to find park ups, to translate things, upload videos or just message friends
02:04and family.
02:05I cannot go without it.
02:07And normally that means either ridiculous roaming charges or trying to hunt down a local sim card every time I
02:13enter a new country.
02:14Which can be a bit of a nightmare.
02:16That's why now I'll be using Saley.
02:18Saley is an eSIM app that lets you download mobile data plans for over 200 destinations directly to your phone.
02:25So instead of swapping physical sim cards every time you cross a border, you can just open the app, choose
02:30your destination, pick a plan and you're good to go.
02:33What I really like is that you only install the eSIM once.
02:37So if I'm driving from France to Morocco and travelling through multiple countries on the way, I can just switch
02:42plans in the app without messing around trying to find a local phone shop.
02:47Making the adventure much more enjoyable.
02:48The app is really easy to use, you just choose the country or region that you're travelling to, pick the
02:53amount of data that you want and activate it before you arrive.
02:56So if you've got a trip planned, doing van life, backpacking, travelling long term or heading somewhere new where you
03:03want reliable internet without expensive roaming fees, then definitely check out Saley.
03:08Go to salie.com forward slash ashleysvanlife or download the app and use my code ashleysvanlife to get an exclusive
03:1615% off Saley data plans.
03:19I'll leave a link at the very top of the description and pinned in the comments so you can download
03:23the app and get the discount.
03:25Thanks again to Saley for sponsoring today's video. Now let's get back into it.
03:59You are watching.
04:02Let's get back into it.
04:05Bye.
04:11Bye.
04:14Bye.
04:41It is the bank holiday weekend and it is going to get very busy
04:44today by the looks of it.
04:45The car park is already full at 9 o'clock in the morning so I am going to get in
04:50for
04:50a dip now and then we will explore this area a little bit later.
06:42Thanks, everybody.
07:29I just about managed to get that cove to myself before some snorkelers came along, so my plan for now
07:35is I'm going to go back to the van, get changed, and then I'm going to come back out here
07:39and have a little look around and enjoy the sun. Oh, I'm out of breath.
07:43The weather's clearing up now. It's due to be a lovely sunny day today, and every day it's going to
07:50get warmer and warmer now for the rest of the week.
07:52Luckily, it's not too far to walk back to the van, and the cove that I'm parked at as well
07:56is another really good cove for going for snorkelling and diving.
08:00Apparently there's massive spider crabs down there as well.
08:53I'm going to go back to the van.
09:18It's not often that I get to do this.
09:23Let's see if I'm running.
09:24I'm running.
09:36I'm running.
10:20It's getting really busy over by the vans now, so I'm going to head over and find a nice
10:25quiet spot to chill, but before I do we'll have a little wander around, I've just noticed
10:29that there's a little trig point over here, so that seems like a good place to start.
10:38Let's go and have a look at the other covey bits on this side, see if there's any other
10:43good swim spots for next time I come here.
10:47I don't think I've actually ever been on this side before.
10:52So nice and quiet though, there's nobody here compared to the other side where it's absolutely
10:57rammed.
10:59I'm just scouting out a good place to sunbathe in a bit and I think down there is a good
11:04option, I want somewhere that's quite tucked away, or possibly over there.
11:12Looks like a good spot down there as well.
15:45Okay, I've just been looking at where I'm going to go next, which is Treffor Seastacks.
15:49I hope I pronounced that correctly.
15:51It's about a 35-minute drive from where I am at the moment and it might be about a half
15:55an hour hike to get to the Seastack viewpoint as well.
15:59So that's the next plan and we're going to head off from here now.
17:58Okay, it's time to complete our last mission of the day.
18:00Okay, it's time to complete our last mission of the day.
18:27I've very nearly changed my mind about coming on this last little bit here but I'm glad I did.
18:33It's looking absolutely gorgeous out here and I don't think it's too far to get to the Seastack
18:40So that is good.
18:44Even after living in my van full time for over a year and a half now, I would still consider
18:49myself quite new to this lifestyle.
18:51I have come to learn that van life can have its dark side, however this is far outweighed by the
18:56rest of the people that meet out on the road.
18:58There is a big misconception in the media about van lifers, putting up height barriers at park-ups because of
19:04the litter,
19:05but from what I have observed after all of this time on the road, van lifers care about their environment,
19:10even more so when it's considered their home park-up.
19:13I've noticed that day visitors are often the most common offenders when it comes to littering
19:17and you'll often find van lifers litter picking and looking after the area.
19:31Okay so it looks like I've found them, they're just here but there's a guy taking some pictures as well
19:38so I'll see if I can find a spot to set up where I'm not disturbing him as well.
20:12It's fantastic.
