Final part of the children's TV drama from 1986. As it draws nearer to Christmas, Tolly learns more about the curse of Green Noah, only to come face to face with the apparition one night and needing all the help from the ghosts that haunt Green Knowe to help him...
Starring Alec Christie, Daphne Oxenford, George Malpas, Polly Maberly, James Trevelyan, Graham McGrath, Heather Ramsey and Peter Poll. This is from an old video recording, so apologies for any picture quality issues, but it has rarely been shown since it's broadcast up to the run up to Christmas 1986. Indeed, this last episode was shown very nearly on the actual day today on December 17th 1986. It's unlike any children's drama I've seen before or since, in that it is slow moving and less concerned with plot than with the relationship between Tolly and his great grandmother, as well as between the ghost children that are his ancestors. And the period settings are beautifully observed, with the Christmas scene in the church from the 1660's a fascinating lookback at how Christmas was celebrated in the past.
