00:00It is certainly hard to believe that a little company that started in a warehouse in El Secundo
00:09is now going public for the... it was the largest IPO ever.
00:18And let me tell you, if people had told me this was going to happen,
00:22I was like, man, you must be smoking some really good crack.
00:27Because I think this company is going to fail.
00:32I mean, I gave SpaceX less than a 10% chance of succeeding at all, to be clear.
00:45In fact, I told people this.
00:46I said, look, we're probably going to fail, but, you know, we should give it a try.
00:49Because if we don't, if there's not a new company that enters space,
00:54we will never be a truly space-bearing civilization.
00:57You know, while the other aerospace companies, they build good rockets and everything,
01:02they were simply not pursuing the technology that's necessary to make life multi-planetary.
01:08To make Star Trek, to make the exciting science fiction futures that we've read about real.
01:16And that's what SpaceX is all about, is to take the fiction out of science fiction
01:22and create an exciting, inspiring future for everyone.
01:27We want to be able to take anyone who wants to go to the moon, anyone who wants to go
01:31to Mars,
01:32or anywhere in the solar system, and maybe beyond the solar system at some point,
01:35we want to be able to take you there.
01:38not just a few astronauts, I mean you, literally you.
01:43And I'm confident at this point that with the incredible team that we have here at SpaceX,
01:51that we will do that for you.
01:58I always think about this, that there are, there are always problems on Earth,
02:03there are always problems on Earth, there are always things that we wish to be better,
02:06that we want to solve here on Earth, and we should solve them.
02:09But there also have to be things that get you excited about the future,
02:14that make you glad to wake up in the morning,
02:18because you can't wait to see what happens next.
02:21And that's the future that SpaceX wants to bring to you.
