00:00F.I.R. registered against former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee
00:04following a political speech in March.
00:06Mamata had warned that if a particular community comes together,
00:11it can have dire consequences.
00:20So quoting that public speech,
00:22a complaint has been filed at one of the police stations by a businessman.
00:26It's being converted into an F.I.R. as well by the Kolkata police.
00:31So basically she had said to the words of
00:34if a particular community comes together,
00:37it can have dire consequences for others.
00:40This was a speech made in 2026.
00:42I want to go across to Tapas on that.
00:44Tapas, take us to the background of the speech
00:46and why has the businessman filed a complaint on it?
00:50Well, Pooja, it all started during a pre-election rally
00:54held by Mota Banerjee.
00:56where she said that if a particular community comes together,
01:00then that could lead to dire consequences
01:03for other communities to follow.
01:06So having said that, this was not taken in good sense
01:08and immediately a police complaint was filed with Kolkata police.
01:12Following that complaint, primary investigation was done
01:15and following that, it was found that it was a formidable offense
01:18and under non-willable sections of the BNSF,
01:21the Hairskrip police station in Kolkata.
01:23Under Kolkata police jurisdiction,
01:25this complaint has been filed.
01:27And notably, this is the second F.I.R. against Mota Banerjee.
01:30First was her following a speech at the Y Channel
01:34where she commented on Indo-Bangladesh's relationship.
01:37And this is the second such complaint which has been filed
01:40and it has been treated as F.I.R.
01:43And under 196, one of the BNSFs has been stated
01:46that police have the right to arrest any person without any warrant.
01:51And police sources say that they have already initiated an investigation.
01:55They have gone through the video clippings
01:56and they are convinced that this is a recognizable offense
01:59following which the F.I.R. has been filed.
02:01And now it remains to be seen that what exactly transpires
02:03as we move ahead with this investigation.
02:06All right, Tapas, keep tracking all the latest on that.
