00:00Now, it's a sit down with Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid.
00:03Hello, my sweet vams.
00:05There are more eyeballs on this show than ever,
00:07and season three is a wild ride.
00:09What is one thing you'd ask viewers
00:11to not judge Lestat for?
00:16Wait, you wanna answer that question?
00:18No, I was just laughing, it was a good question.
00:19Yeah, so you don't answer it.
00:20I'm interested in...
00:25I mean, I think that's what this season is, right?
00:27Like, the whole thing is some context.
00:34Context is very important.
00:37I love Lestat.
00:38I love Lestat.
00:40I've always loved Lestat.
00:42Like, I don't judge him anymore.
00:46I think in the end, I was pretty f***ing great!
00:50I don't feel the need to ask an audience to not judge him.
00:53I think it's within his remit and his kind of DNA to be judged.
01:00And he kind of welcomes that.
01:02And I think he is love me or hate me.
01:06I'm gonna be the vampire Lestat anyway.
01:09No matter how dark the show gets,
01:10there's still always a playful undertone.
01:12Like, you're winking at the fans.
01:14How do you balance that?
01:15I mean, a big part of that is Lestat.
01:17You're in Lestat's mind, you know?
01:19And that's a big part of the way he operates, you know?
01:22He's very dark.
01:23He's an optimist in some capacity.
01:25You know, he doesn't wallow in grief.
01:28He doesn't wear grief like velvet, like Louis, do you know what I mean?
01:31He's actually, he's more of a, you know, like,
01:35let's make the best of the situation kind of guy, you know?
01:38And does see humor in everything.
01:41I bet!
01:42But a big part of that is also down to Roland and in the edit
01:45and the way he creates the scenes.
01:47The scenes are written with more humor.
01:49There's like gag, gag, gag, gag, gag, gag, gag, gag, gag, gag, gag, gag,
01:53over and over and over and over and over again,
01:54even while it's like, you know, the most traumatic thing in the world.
01:58And that's wonderful.
01:59Like, it's really fun.
01:59No, thank you!
02:01Last time we talked, you said your final pre-vamp meal
02:03would be schnitzel and Riesling because you were filming in Prague.
02:06What was the schnitzel of Toronto that you enjoyed
02:08during your downtime together?
02:10Yeah, I mean, like, to be honest, I don't know.
02:13I don't, I actually don't like, I mean, I was just,
02:16I was just like trying to keep it in theme.
02:19And I was like, that was the little, you know,
02:20that was what we were eating in Prague.
02:22And I regret that choice.
02:26So thank you very much for giving me the opportunity
02:27to re-answer that.
02:29You debunked it.
02:30That was actually a really, really nice meal.
02:32It wasn't true.
02:33I mean, honestly, because like, it wasn't that.
02:36I know, I've seen that clip.
02:38Really?
02:38I gave you such a hard time about it.
02:40It's true.
02:41That would be your last meal.
02:42Your last meal, though.
02:44Probably like my favorite thing in the world,
02:46and I don't get to eat it very much,
02:47and I love it to death,
02:49and could eat mountains of it,
02:51is spaghetti bolognese.
02:53And I just don't get to eat that very much.
02:55It's not the thing that I get to eat.
02:57Really?
02:58Badly these days.
02:59I mean, I eat it like...
03:02What are you going to say?
03:04My cheese on toast?
03:06What?
03:07What?
03:08Cheese on toast.
03:09There's an amazing place in Toronto,
03:12which I had delivery a lot of,
03:17called Mama Bee Kitchen.
03:20And it was exceptional food.
03:23Yeah, that was really good.
03:24But never saw the inside of it.
03:26I don't know what it looks like,
03:27and I don't know where it is.
03:28But you should check it out.
03:29They have an amazing...
03:30And I would.
03:31I would bring these for you sometimes.
03:32I'd bring them into work.
03:33Oh, the cookies.
03:34They have the amazing cookies.
03:36So yeah, yeah.
03:36They had like a beyond...
03:38And it was called a...
03:39Salty cookies?
03:40Yeah, it was like a salty...
03:41Wow.
03:42It was like...
03:43What was it called?
03:43It was like called like a super cookie,
03:45or like a...
03:46I don't know.
03:47It was like amazing.
03:49And that was like my f***ing treat of the week.
03:53And also because I, you know,
03:54and I would buy like multiples of them,
03:56give them out to people,
03:57because I was like,
03:58this is the best thing in the world.
03:59I wish I could remember what they were called.
04:01Your co-star Eric is famously online.
04:03What's the fan theory he's made you aware of
04:05that you can't forget?
04:07Yeah, no, Eric's like...
04:08He's like TikTok.
04:10Yeah, I know he's got a TikTok, yeah.
04:12Twitter, like he's on everything.
04:13Yeah.
04:14He knows everything.
04:15Actually, I did get shown a photograph of him,
04:17like that he posted of himself,
04:19like sitting in a chair,
04:21like manspreading,
04:23going like,
04:24who's ready to party or something like that.
04:26In a scene that comes up in the show later on.
04:31And I was like, wow, that's good on him.
04:33I love it.
04:34Yeah.
04:35I haven't really heard fan theories for a long time.
04:37Like obviously the last time
04:39we were like really discussing fan theories
04:41was that Armand was Alice.
04:43Like that's like the last, like main...
04:45Oh yeah.
04:46That was a good one.
04:47I like that one.
04:48Yeah, I love that one.
04:49Yeah, I love that one.
04:51Jacob and Sam,
