00:05On June 10th, the Wollongong Mustangs hosted their pre-season combine for the Colts and Men's Gridiron Football teams.
00:13New and returning players participated in combine drills such as the 40-yard dash, broad jump, three-cone drill, and
00:215-10-5 shuttle run.
00:23The drills were meant to test players' speed, agility, and ability to change direction, all important facets of playing the
00:33American sport.
00:34Players were then separated by positions to do positional drills, such as route running and passing.
00:41The Mustang saw plenty of new faces Wednesday, illustrating a growth in the popularity for the sport.
00:49Coaches have said that the introduction of flag football to the Olympics has led to an increase in players wanting
00:55to try the contact version of the sport as well.
00:59The Mustangs won't be putting on the pads yet, but they will in September as they begin their 35th season
01:05of existence.
