Tenby unites this Sunday to once again remember Chris ‘Faddy’ Thomas - with a special charity fishing auction in the seaside town.
The memorial event is being held again this year at the Hope and Anchor on St Julians Street to raise money in memory of Faddy under the banner of ‘The Kick and Catch’ - combining two things that he loved in life the most - rugby and fishing.
Another successful memorial rugby match was held last month at Heywood Lane.
Next up will be the ‘The Catch’ on Sunday, June 14 at The Hope & Anchor where the fishing auction will take place from 6.30pm.
For this, once again this year, a temporary road closure will be in place from 4.30 to 9.30pm for the centre of Tenby, taking in Tudor Square and St Julians Street – from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Bridge Street.
Crackwell Street will be made two-way under temporary traffic light control to enable access to properties in the Harbour area. Pedestrian and Emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
The organisers shared: “Who’ll be joining us to raise a glass to Faddy next weekend for a full day of fishing, music, drinks, and raising money for a great cause.
“We’ll be raising money for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity and Wales Air Ambulance.
“We had an incredible turnout last year, so let’s make it another day to remember!”
Please register yourself at the Hope and Anchor. All vessels and rod holders must be registered and have paid in order to weigh in their catch.
Fishing can also take place from the beach/rocks not just boats at sea.
Vessels and rod holders will follow the Welsh fisheries law and guidance on Bass fishing.
The catch must have been caught on the day of the competition to be entered at our weigh in.
Prizes for: Heaviest Bass (1st & 2nd place).
All catches will be auctioned and sold to the highest bidder, with special prizes donated for auction.
