00:00First responders racing to a five alarm apartment fire that killed three people in Texas
00:04struggled to get to the scene because the road was blocked by a car and authorities couldn't
00:09reason with the driver because there wasn't one. The vehicle standing in the way was a driverless
00:14Waymo car. The incident was captured on body cam footage from a frustrated cop who was trying to
00:19get the Waymo to move. There's nobody in here. Connected to rider support. Come on. This call
00:24may be recorded for quality assurance. Yes, you need to move this car ASAP, please. There's a fire
00:31around the corner. You need to move this car. You're blocking the roadway. Sir, real quick, I just need
00:34your ABC. Dallas, Dallas County constables. Come on. That's the cop talking to a Waymo customer service
00:41agent who blames the immovable car problem on a quote minor issue before eventually allowing the
00:47officer to manually move it out of the way. Now Waymo told a local Dallas news station that the
00:52vehicle was yielding to other human controlled traffic that was trying to get out of the way.
00:57They claim the street remained clear and that other vehicles were allowed to pass. And it seems from the
01:01body cam footage that the car was indeed moved before fire trucks actually arrived. Though by the looks of
01:07it, things could have gone smoother.
