00:00Meanwhile, up top, Theo Borenstein still in the lead with a 1.2 second gap over David Walter.
00:09Borenstein just set the fastest lap of the race with a 2 minute 3 second 0.735,
00:14getting a further tenth on Walter and 3 tenths on Elia Weiss.
00:19The championship reader has a huge gap given that it's only been three laps over Dean Pedersen.
00:25It's already 3.5 seconds as Pedersen doesn't look like he has the pace to stick with the top three.
00:38Meanwhile, up the inside goes Alexandre Loza as the Brazilian enters the top 11,
00:44overtaking Mio Olerte and there's contact between Olerte and Piotr Orkowski probably
00:50as the two hit the barriers and I think this will definitely bring out the safety car
01:01as the fight for 12th position ends in tears with contact between Mio Olerte and Piotr Orkowski.
01:15Of course, we will try and see a replay, but I think the red flag has been already brought out
01:26on track.
01:26Yeah, I didn't want to call it, but it looked like a red flag could be
01:34weighed from the stewards given the severity of the impact.
01:37Yeah, there was contact between the rear right of Mio Olerte and the front left of Piotr Orkowski.
01:44The two then hit the barriers on the inside of turn number two.
01:54And therefore, we are under red flag conditions.
02:00The timer will stop and then we will be waiting for the marshals to recover the stranded cars
02:12and, of course, repair the tyre barriers on the inside of turn number two.
02:16It was quite an unfortunate contact, I have to say, with Olerte just moving an inch to the right
02:23to avoid the gravel trap on the outside of turn two
02:26and then making slight contact with Orkowski.
02:38It was quite an unlucky incident, of course, between the two drivers.
02:46And this red flag for sure will not play into the hands of the top three
02:51who had quite a big gap over fourth position in Dean Pedersen.
02:59Theo Bornenstein looked to have the pace so far, but his efforts will be reduced to none
03:08as his gap over David Valter will be dropping to zero.
03:16As the cars now go into the pits, we will be waiting for
03:28the official confirmation from the stewards on a potential restart time.
03:36Meanwhile, we can see the Muir alert
03:44is out of the car, at least one of the two drivers is.
03:48Of course, during a red flag, all cars need to go into the pit lane,
03:53stay in the fast lane into single file formation
03:56and wait for further instructions from the stewards.
03:59We will, of course, be telling you if and which communications we will be given
04:09as Theo Bornenstein has parked his Genza at the tail end of the pits
04:16in the fast lane with David Valter in second position
04:19and third was championship leader Elia Weiss.
04:24Meanwhile, it is very nice to see the drivers
04:28on their own two feet.
04:31Of course, they will be checked medically after the incident,
04:35but it was a nasty hit, so it's very nice to see them out of the car.
04:47Naturally, of course, this will be not an easy fix for the stewards
04:53as the tire barriers were damaged in the accident.
05:06The timer has stopped with 70 minutes and 32 seconds to go,
05:12which is the time that we will be having
05:17as the remaining time for the race once we will be restarting.
05:23And here you can see the marshals working tirelessly
05:27to start removing all the pieces of carbon fiber
05:31and, of course, the two cars of Mir Olert and Piotr Orkowski.
05:38The accident coming just on the inside of the exit of turn two.
05:44We can see a replay, thanks to the work
05:50of our TV crew.
05:52Yeah, just very unfortunate, wasn't it?
05:57Contact between the rear right of Mir Olert
05:59and the front left of Piotr Orkowski
06:01who was trying to find some space
06:03to go up the inside of Olert,
06:07but the Swedish driver was just trying to avoid
06:12the outside curb and the gravel trap
06:16on the outside of it
06:18and, therefore, the two came together by the end.
06:24It wasn't the nasties of accidents
06:31but the hit was pretty substantial
06:33which is why the marshals are at work at the moment.
06:38with the two cars being
06:42recovered right about now, as you can see.
06:45It's very, very nice to
06:47see the marshals working tirelessly
06:49to give us the opportunity
06:51to go racing
06:54as quickly as possible.
06:58Thankfully, we get the notification
07:01that both drivers are conscious
07:02and will be brought to the medical center
07:05for the routine checks
07:07after such an accident.
07:09But it is extremely nice
07:11to see that
07:13confirmation from race control.
07:17The accident involving
07:18Piotr-Victor Orkowski
07:21the pole driving for harp racing
07:23and Mio Olert, the SG Motors Swedish driver
07:26both of them being rookies
07:28this season
07:30in a championship that has
07:32grown in numbers massively
07:34going from a maximum entry number
07:38of 28 cars in 2025
07:39to basically a minimum
07:41of 40 full season entries
07:43this year
07:45which was incredible to see.
07:55and of course now
07:56teams and drivers
07:57trying to regroup
07:58on the
08:01fast lane of the pit lane
08:04trying to understand
08:05when
08:06we will be
08:07going back
08:08to green flag racing.
08:11It won't be for another
08:1210 minutes at least
08:13given that
08:13we will have
08:14to wait for
08:17a
08:17the classic
08:1810 minute
08:20notification
08:23which
08:23could come
08:24actually pretty shortly
08:25but
08:25we'll
08:26let you
08:27know as soon as we do
08:30but yeah
08:31you can see
08:31the cars being recovered
08:32from the recovery trucks
08:36and all the work
08:37being done
08:38to repair
08:39the tyre barriers
08:40to make sure
08:41that we go
08:42racing as quickly
08:43as possible
08:45of course
08:46that is quite a
08:48peculiar part
08:49of the racetrack
08:51you're just out
08:52of turn number 2
08:53there's a bit of
08:54decompression
08:55with
08:56the back end
08:57of the hill
08:59as the drivers
09:00then go towards
09:00turn number 3
09:01it is almost
09:02a blind corner
09:03so it's very difficult
09:03to see what's happening
09:04in front of you
09:05which is what
09:06probably
09:07Piotr Oskowski
09:08had
09:09once he came
09:09to turn 2
09:10though it was
09:12basically glued
09:13to the back
09:16meanwhile
09:17we have confirmation
09:18that the race
09:18will be restarted
09:21the repairs
09:24are underway
09:25as we can
09:25clearly see
09:26and we have
09:27an estimated
09:28restart
09:28behind the safety car
09:30in about
09:3015 minutes time
09:33that would be
09:34fantastic
09:35of course
09:36given
09:36how quick
09:37the marshals
09:39have been
09:41in the past
09:42few minutes
09:42to clear
09:43the racetrack
09:44from all the debris
09:45and then of course
09:46repairing
09:47the tyre barriers
09:49which have worked
09:51fantastically
09:51I must say
09:52in this occasion
09:53meanwhile
09:54Genza Motorsport
09:55looking over
09:55in the pits
10:08of course
