In the new RS 5, 600 Nm of torque work hand in hand with a powerful electric motor. This contributes 130 kW (177 hp) and 460 Nm of torque to the impressive maximum system output of 470 kW (639 hp) and 825 Nm of torque.
With this combination of performance and fuel consumption, the RS 5 sets new standards in its class – uncompromisingly sporty and highly efficient. At the same time, the electric motor ensures even more spontaneous response and more powerful acceleration. The engine starts purely electrically – a conventional 12-volt starter is no longer required.
The engine starts purely electrically – a conventional 12-volt starter is no longer needed. ... The electric motor and the 400-volt system with a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 25.9 kWh (net 22 kWh) form the foundation for the RS 5's electric power delivery. They not only provide the electric boost for an impressive 3.6-second acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, but, in the case of quattro with Dynamic Torque Control, are also key elements for the precise torque distribution of the electromechanical torque vectoring system. Furthermore, the Audi RS 5 offers a purely electric range of up to 84 kilometers (EAER) and up to 87 kilometers (EAER City).
