00:00In 1968, the United States Air Force lost a nuclear weapon.

00:05A B-52 bomber caught fire over Greenland
00:08and crashed onto the sea ice near Thule Air Base.
00:11It was carrying four hydrogen bombs.
00:13The explosion scattered radioactive plutonium
00:16across miles of frozen water.
00:18What happened next was worse than the crash.
00:20The military sent hundreds of workers onto the contaminated ice.
