00:36:02And when you have to defend the takedown or else you get stuck on your back, now your whole
00:36:06striking game changes.

00:36:09You don't just throw those same punch count.

00:36:12So this is what is the dominant force of Bryce Mitchell in these positions.
00:36:16If he gets that top position, he can make Luna second guess his grappling.
00:36:20Not only that, too, Don, but it was Luna that tried to get this fight to the ground.

00:36:25So now all that stuff you talked to us about, being offensive, using his wrestling, now
00:36:29you start second guessing that as well.
00:36:31The key for Mitchell in this fight, in my experience, was going to be scrambles.
00:36:36Because then you turn it into a jiu-jitsu wrestling style match.
00:36:39If it's just pure wrestling, Luna might have the advantage.
00:36:41But in scrambles, you can mix it up.
00:36:44Luna's starting to get urgent here.
00:36:45Now he finds himself under full mount.
00:36:48You have Mitchell, though.
00:36:49A lot of experience.
00:36:51But he's not posturing up.
00:36:53He's not really offering a lot.
00:36:54Now he's improving his position now.
00:36:56You can't.
00:36:56And he's winning on control time.
00:36:58I'm not saying that it's the most exciting.
00:37:00But on control time, it's impressive.
00:37:02And he's landing, you know, a lot of stuff with the position of making him tired.
00:37:06But Luna's ahead on the strikes.

00:41:36You see Mitchell get tired, breathe heavy in these fights, and it just doesn't seem to slow him down.

00:41:43I mean, stabs a straw into a cow's gutter and just chugs it all day.
00:41:48So maybe that's where the strength comes from.

00:42:09Now when Luna moves forward and throws his punches, he looks good.
00:42:12But the second Bryce Mitchell puts Luna on his back foot, he hasn't really had an answer for that.
00:42:19And look at how his feet are on the ground, and he's not getting them involved on the bottom.
00:42:23That's the difference between Bryce Mitchell and Luna on their back.
00:42:27Notice Luna's legs are not in the game, and he's over the top of the head.
00:42:32That's just jujitsu is different.
00:42:34And when you watch Bryce, he got his legs involved.
00:42:36He starts challenging the balance and the base of Luna.
00:42:38And that's what I mean by black belt pressure.
00:42:41Black belt offense is different than just pure wrestling offense.
00:42:45Cuts that knee right through.
00:42:46He's trying to look to mount again.
00:42:48He's almost there.
00:42:51And he's just using that upper body to pressure straight into the face and keep Luna flat on the mat.
00:43:00He's going to stay in half guard here.
00:43:03What's keeping Luna on his back and flat is that right underhook and the shoulder pressure of Bryce Mitchell on
00:43:09the chin of Luna.
00:43:10And now he's passed to sidemount.
00:43:11And again, it's also because Luna is not using his legs from the bottom.
00:43:16They're not existing.
00:43:17Now he's going knee on belly.
00:43:18He's always transitioning between those two and just keeping Luna guessing, not giving him an opportunity.
00:43:25It's all upper body here for Luna.
00:43:28See how it's loose.
00:43:29Anytime you put your foot on the knee like that, you're not using the legs from the bottom to challenge
00:43:34the base of the top.
00:43:40On top, one of the main tactics you've got to, or on bottom, one of the main tactics you have
00:43:45to use underneath somebody on top of you is their balance.
00:43:49You've got to make them balance.
00:43:50And right now you're seeing there's no balance being challenged for Bryce Mitchell.
00:43:54So he can just move wherever he wants, on his knees, on top, sidemount, mount.
00:43:58When the balance starts getting compromised, that creates space.
00:44:01And we're not seeing Luna do that from the bottom.
00:44:03And that's what's making a difference in these grappling positions.
