00:10You think it's appropriate to get dog on the face?
00:13It's disgusting.
00:15Right, you said to peace, go away.
00:17Get out of the river and get on the road.
00:19We talked to police officers.
00:20You can call the cops if you want.
00:22Said the state owns the water.
00:23If they don't, I own the water.
00:25I said I'd like to talk to you anymore.
00:27There's no reason to get in here.
00:29Yeah, you crazy boy.
00:31Do it.
00:32Oh, God.
00:34Throw me the swimming, Joey.
00:36You a pathetic ass bitch.
00:37Why are you making all this noise?
00:39Go yourself.
00:43As one in five Americans move to the suburbs, neighbor complaints double.
00:48Get the out of here, you broke bitch.
00:50People are spending more time at home than ever before.
00:53They have gotten to really know their neighbors for better.
00:57The out of this neighborhood.
00:58And worse.
00:59Oh, my God.
01:01I'm suing the you.
01:02You got me talking.
01:04From home sweet home to battle zone.
01:07What is that?
01:07Hey, hey, hey.
01:08These are.
01:09This is harassment, you fat piece of.
01:17Georgetown, Texas is a quiet town just north of Austin.
01:21Rich in history and full of beautiful parks and old school architecture.
01:26It's where Shelly win and her husband Jeff buy their dream house and decide to raise a family.
01:31I love my neighborhood.
01:33I live on a little over acre.
01:35There's like just woods, like untouched woods in the back.
01:39And we wanted our kids to be able to enjoy the nature.
01:43They go hiking back there.
01:46I mean, it's a kid's dream.
01:48It's beautiful.
01:50But not long after moving in, Shelly discovers that their little Garden of Eden is actually an abysmal dystopia.
01:57I never thought moving into my dream home, I would have a nightmare neighbor.
02:03It's horrible.
02:03For the last few years, Shelly and her family have been burdened by a belligerently vulgar neighbor.
02:10Sorry, but my husband is my neighbor.
02:13He lives right next door.
02:15And like, I can't go outside without him coming out.
02:21Early on, the neighbor who lives next door with his husband takes an odd interest in Shelly and Jeff.
02:27When we first moved here, I had like weird feelings because he's rang our doorbell
02:32at 11.17 p.m. and woke us up with flowers.
02:38Something was all about him.
02:39F*** you!
02:41The overly friendly communication, however, soon turns truly bizarre and aggressive.
02:47As the neighbor, unprovoked, begins yelling random, lurid, and obscene claims at them from his yard.
02:54Jeff and Shelly are f***ing my husband. Busted.
02:59He has this obsession that me and my husband are having sex with his husband.
03:04Jeff and Shelly Wade are f***ing my husband.
03:09F*** his f*** or he's f***ing on them.
03:13I mean, sick.
03:14The neighbor shouts his expletive ridden tirades in front of Shelly's children too.
03:18F*** you. F*** your f*** always done.
03:23My husband was playing basketball with my boys and he just went on a rant.
03:30Oh! Oh!
03:33What the f*** up, Jeff?
03:35Why are you making all this noise?
03:37What the f*** up, Jeff?
03:38My kids, like, they shouldn't hear those words.
03:43You pathetic f***, bitch. Go f*** yourself, Jeff.
03:48Oh, I can do it for you.
03:49Shelly claims the endless onslaught has been going on for nearly three years
03:54and is having a serious effect on her mental and physical health.
03:58I have been in victim counseling for two years.
04:01It's made my anxiety so bad. I mean, I have PTSD.
04:09I literally can't even control my feelings, but I pray every single day.
04:17Unfortunately for Shelly and her family,
04:20despite the neighbor being arrested multiple times on a variety of charges,
04:24the arrests generally don't lead to prosecutions.
04:27Because as disturbing as his actions may be, they aren't illegal under Texas law.
04:33Legally, this shouldn't be allowed.
04:35I've actually been trying to get the law rewritten, the harassment law, the stalking law.
04:42There needs to be more protection for a case like ours.
04:46But Shelly is determined not to give up hope.
04:49I'm fighting for everybody now, for not only my family, my neighborhood,
04:54and others that are going through this horrible situation.
04:57No family, no kids.
05:00She would have to live like this.
05:02Sir, my husband.
05:11In Yorkshire, a county in the north of England,
05:14a neighborhood boy is having problems keeping his ball in his own yard.
05:20And he jumps the fence, separating his backyard from the neighbors to retrieve it under the watch of his father.
05:29The woman next door asks the boy's father not to let his son onto their property.
05:35The request is apparently ignored, however, as the boy's father continues letting his son hop the fence into the neighbor's
05:42yard.
05:45The next door neighbor's daughter then takes matters into her own hands.
05:55Allegedly smearing dog feces on the top of the fence to discourage any more hopping.
06:06So sexy.
06:07The daughter goes into her backyard, but the boy's father follows and continues addressing her.
06:12Do you think it's appropriate to put dog on the fence?
06:16You don't think that's a little step too far? It's disgusting.
06:20Right, you've said your piece. Go away.
06:22This neighborhood war is heating up as the woman's request and her daughter's smear job
06:28do little to discourage the boy from jumping over the fence.
06:32That is until early one evening.
06:36The ball once again goes over the fence.
06:39But this time, the boy's father rings the neighbor's doorbell instead,
06:42along with his son to ask for it back.
06:50But unlike his wife and daughter, the husband is much more direct.
06:55And this long simmering feud builds to a head-on clash.
07:06In Yorkshire, England, a young boy continues hopping the fence into his neighbor's yard to retrieve
07:12errant balls, despite being asked by the family next door to stop.
07:17And when the boy's father goes to speak with the neighbor instead,
07:21this bubbling war between neighbors suddenly comes to a head.
07:35The stunned boy watches his father topple over as others come to the man's aid.
07:44A security camera captures the scene as more neighbors gather.
07:50Concern mixes with outrage, as one of the man's friends needs to be restrained.
07:56Paramedics soon arrive and the man is checked out.
07:59He suffers minor injuries, including a bloody nose.
08:04The neighbor is arrested and later sentenced to 200 hours of community service and ordered to pay a fine.
08:12The boy and his father reportedly haven't spoken to the family next door since the incident.
08:19And there's been no more balls in the backyard either.
08:30Fishing is more than just a hobby for Vincent Barone. It's an obsession.
08:35Oh my God.
08:37In the fishing videos he posts online of him and his buddies are seen by hundreds of thousands of followers.
08:43In today's video, we did some awesome peacock bass fishing with my boy last.
08:46He put us on some crazy spots.
08:48But not everyone loves angling quite as much as Vincent.
08:52Get out of the river and get on the road.
08:54As he and his friend discover on this chilly afternoon,
08:58while river fishing for trout in Hunterdon County, New Jersey,
09:01when they're suddenly approached by an angry neighbor.
09:05What's up?
09:06It's all private in here.
09:08We talked to police officers.
09:09We got, you can call the cops if you want.
09:11He said the state owns the water.
09:13They don't.
09:13It's all posted.
09:14I own the water.
09:16I'm the owner of the property.
09:18The neighbor calls the police while Vincent and his buddy calmly stand by.
09:22I've got a couple of guys trespassing on my property.
09:26We're not on your property.
09:27You're in.
09:27You're on my property.
09:29Do you know you can't own the water?
09:31A few minutes later, the police show up.
09:34You want us to come up here or we can just talk right here?
09:36It's whatever you want.
09:36Well, it's private property.
09:38So whatever you guys do, you got to come out of the river.
09:40We were told that we're allowed to walk from public properties up the river.
09:43I got what you're saying.
09:45You're not getting a citation, but it's private property.
09:47Okay.
09:47You do have to go.
09:48The boys return to the riverbank, and after the ornery neighbor leaves, the sympathetic
09:53officer is surprisingly open and candid with the young men.
10:20Vincent and his buddy head downriver and run into some other friendlier neighbors on the way.
10:27And they were so mad, but we're all good.
10:30The cops, they said they're on our side.
10:36Not 15 minutes later downstream, in the public part of the river,
10:41karma rewards the polite boys with quite a catch.
10:47This is the fish I was talking about.
10:50Proving that at the end of the day, even a grumpy neighbor can't ruin a good fishing expedition.
10:57Dude.
10:58Gage, that's a giant fish.
11:00Oh my gosh.
11:02No way.
11:09Richmond, British Columbia.
11:11Back the up.
11:12A neighbor living in this apartment complex is suddenly awakened one morning by some nasty
11:18yelling in the parking lot and goes out on her balcony and starts recording.
11:23I said I don't want to talk to you, Mark.
11:26There's no reason for you to be here.
11:28Stop speaking to me.
11:29Back the up.
11:31Hey, you're in my personal space, okay?
11:34Back the up.
11:35Police have arrived on the scene in response to a domestic disturbance call
11:39involving the irate man and the woman sitting on the curb next to him.
11:43I'm going to give you five seconds and back the up.
11:47While it is unclear what has the man so upset, he continues berating the officers.
12:00As the neighbor spouts vulgar hate speech at the police, another officer arrives and the
12:06situation intensifies.
12:13As one of the officers unholsters his taser, the enraged man becomes even more hostile.
12:34Tensions mount as a crazed neighbor verbally insults multiple policemen in the parking lot of an
12:40apartment complex, forcing one of the officers to pull out his taser.
12:51The man falls to the ground and continues struggling as the others surround him.
13:04As the man's female companion stands back recording,
13:07the officers struggle to place the man in handcuffs.
13:10Get the off you. Get my lawyer and my dad.
13:15Hey, homeboy, guess what? I'll remember you.
13:18I will remember you.
13:20More officers arrive as the man continues struggling
13:23before they finally get him in handcuffs and carry him to one of the police cruisers.
13:32The neighbor, who does not know the couple, stops recording.
13:35And while it's never determined exactly what the man is so worked up about,
13:40neither he nor the woman have been seen or heard
13:43by any neighbors at the apartment complex since.
13:47You guys are done.
13:49Get to the video.
13:56A recent survey shows that lawn maintenance is of
14:00major importance to 40% of homeowners in suburban neighborhoods.
14:07Simply finding time to mow their lawn can be the hardest part.
14:13As this man in Oklahoma finds out, forced to resort to cutting his grass during a hurricane.
14:23Or this homeowner in Ontario, also braving a raging storm, much to the amusement of his neighbor.
14:30Yes, look at this guy. Zero .
14:35Some refuse to let anything get in the way of their lawn care.
14:41This neighbor in Pennsylvania looks to be mowing his lawn with a fog machine and guessing where to cut.
14:52It's not.
14:55It's not.
14:56It's not.
15:16Let's talk about this comprehensive whether it's their mower—
15:22Or how they move while they're mowing.
15:27One thing is certain, when it comes to lawn care, nobody takes pride in it quite like Americans.
15:50Neighborhoods across America come in all shapes and sizes.
15:53They can be suburbs, apartment buildings, or in coastal communities, they can even be boating docks and marinas.
16:03And today in Hawaii, at one of those communal docks, neighbors are watching in horror as a woman and her
16:10son are in danger of drowning.
16:16It's a rainy afternoon, and the woman's minivan is being sucked out to sea
16:21after she accidentally drives it too far down the boat loading ramp.
16:25There's a line in the front of the boat.
16:29As the neighbors panic to find a way to help the mother and son,
16:33the van starts to sink further below the surface, and it's drifting into deeper waters.
16:44At a neighborhood marina in Hawaii, a woman and her son suddenly find their car sinking into the harbor
16:50after accidentally driving it too far down the dock's loading ramp.
16:58Neighbors jump in and swim to the trapped family to help out while the son escapes on the passenger's side.
17:05The mother, who cannot swim, crawls through her window and sits in a safer position
17:12as the neighbor tries to grab a rope and save her vehicle.
17:21Neighbors inch the car closer to shore, and it appears everything's going to be all right.
17:28They get it back to the ramp, and the woman finally hops out.
17:35When suddenly...
17:36It's trying to go back out.
17:38Hey, tie it on quick.
17:40Go, go.
17:41Go to the clean.
17:43It's sinking.
17:45Hurry, guys.
17:46The car sinks too deep and starts rolling forward into the drink.
17:51Guys, hurry.
17:53Oh, my God.
17:54And despite the cries of onlooking neighbors, the vehicle is too heavy to pull back to shore.
18:00So they do the only thing they still can.
18:03They try to make sure everyone is safe.
18:06Everybody go out.
18:08Everybody's out.
18:09Everybody's out.
18:10And with the final few bubbles at the surface, the minivan disappears beneath the Hawaiian water's edge.
18:16And even though the neighbors are safe, they'll have to use one side of the ramp for the day.
18:21So no boat propellers knock against the roof of a minivan trapped in Davy Jones' locker.
18:36Historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is one of America's most significant cities in the perfect place to call home for 28-year
18:43-old history buff Chanel Bell.
18:45I love my neighborhood for the simple fact that it's historic.
18:49The oldest houses on the block is a neighbor across the street.
18:53Their house was built in, I believe, 1790.
18:56As a single mom, Chanel adopts a dog to not only be a playmate for her daughter, but also a
19:02household protector.
19:03This is Kobe.
19:04This is my four-year-old husky, and he is my best friend.
19:08Kobe is a huge protector for me.
19:10He's like my little guardian.
19:11A few months after adopting her pup, Chanel starts to notice some strange behavior from Kobe.
19:17Why did you do that?
19:19When Kobe decided to dig a hole in our front yard, I thought it was extremely odd because he just
19:25doesn't do things like that.
19:26Soon after the first hole, Kobe digs another a few days later.
19:31He's going in on this hole.
19:33When I tried to pull him away from the hole, he, like, wouldn't budge.
19:38He just seemed pretty determined to give me some kind of signal.
19:42The hole looked pretty ominous, but I would have never expected the magnitude of what it turned out to be.
19:47Puzzled, Chanel tries to think of all the possibilities for why Kobe is digging.
19:52But then she remembers an issue she had with her heater leaking gas when she first moved in.
19:57As such, she uses a gas monitor over the hole and is stunned by what it shows.
20:06Immediately, my heart sank when I found out because I'm like, oh, my God, this is extremely serious.
20:12I can't believe I just found this out.
20:14So, I mean, it's so many things that could possibly happen.
20:18Chanel calls her neighborhood gas company to investigate the situation.
20:21They find the gas leak, which if not found, could have caused a major explosion in the neighborhood.
20:28The company fixes the gas line, preventing any future issues.
20:33After the incident, Chanel is more thankful than ever that she adopted Kobe.
20:37I'm just like, you literally saved me, you know, my daughter's life, potentially, like, the neighborhood.
20:45He becomes a neighborhood hero.
20:48Since then, Kobe's been in, like, a lot of different articles and things like that.
20:51Like, he's even been in the paper, and I had a neighbor actually bring over the article to me so
20:55I can frame it.
20:57Showing that it isn't just our human neighbors who look out for each other.
21:01I think Kobe has not only our back, but our neighbors' back for the rest of our lives, and I
21:07don't think that will change.
21:09You're doing a good job.
