00:00How much of your body can you lose and still survive?
00:03I can't be the only one who's wondered this.
00:05What is the absolute minimum that you need?
00:07Naturally, I had to search this and it is somehow a lot more and less than what I expected.
00:11You can lose an entire kidney and really you only need like one lung.
00:16You can also lose up to like 70% of your liver, but it's just going to grow back.
00:20So maybe you haven't really lost it after all, but I just want to still put it on the list.
00:24You can also survive without a stomach.
00:25Like doctors can just reroute your digestive system and then your intestines are like,
00:30Oh, I guess stomach things are my job now.
00:32People have survived losing multiple limbs.
00:33So I guess you can just lose all your limbs.
00:35I know you don't need all of your brain, but it turns out that you really only need half of
00:38it.
00:39At this point, the body isn't really functioning well, but it is technically surviving.
00:43And so this is what we're left with.
