01:00When I was a kid, I was always watching Djokovic playing, but now I'm a big fan of John Fonseca.
01:09What he's doing is amazing.
01:11And also what you said, Brazil has an amazing history here in French Open, what Guga has made, Fonseca made
01:18this week.
01:19And now I think I did a little bit more for Brazil right now.
01:23I think Brazil is living a good moment again.
01:28And every place is growing up together.
01:30That's good.
01:46You played a great match today with such big energy.
01:49I just wanted to get your take on what it was like to play in a big crowd, to have
01:53all those Brazilian fans, Brazilian flags.
01:55And you seem like you're a pro at getting the crowd riled up.
02:00Yeah, I'm the kind of player that I like to play with the crowd in Brazil, especially because we are
02:07most a football country.
02:10The crowd is always supporting a lot, and I like to play with that.
02:14So I just want to thank everyone that cheered for me today.
02:18And yeah, it was a big atmosphere.
02:20For sure, I wouldn't forget this day.
02:25Never.
02:26I will never forget this day.
02:27Sorry.
02:29The key to the final today, Michael had been in really good form.
02:33He'd beaten the Australian Open Boys champion.
02:36He'd had a really good semifinal.
02:38How did you approach the final playing him?
02:40And also, what was the, I suppose, the difference for you today in the match?
02:45Yeah, Michael is a big, solid player.
02:49For sure, he's in the final.
02:51He's in the final, so he has confidence as well.
02:54And I think in the beginning of the match, I was just trying to intimidate him a little bit, just
03:01putting winners or something.
03:02But he was really solid.
03:03It was a bit tough to manage the situation.
03:07But at some point of the match, I think I grew up my level, and I enjoyed the opportunities that
03:12I had.
03:13And to close the match wasn't too easy, you know.
03:17I always had another feeling, you know, a special feeling on your heart.
03:22But, yeah, it was a good match today, great level.
03:26And I also congrats him to his amazing week.
03:29But really happy to get through in this final.
03:34After your first round win, you talked about spending a couple weeks with Joao last year, I think it was.
03:40I just didn't follow up and ask you, did you get to train with him quite a bit?
03:45I know you said he told you to be humble and taught you some lessons off court.
03:48But were you on the court together training?
03:50And if so, what was that like?
03:54No, no, I think the only moment that we were together was that two weeks that I told you.
04:02But for sure, like I told you, I think the first day, right?
04:06I told you that he sent me a message, you know, when I was in the semifinals in the U
04:12.S. Open.
04:13He sent me, vamos guto, keep believing, you got it.
04:16So, yeah, we didn't have practice, but we are connected, yeah.
04:23There was a lot of people in your box today.
04:25Can you summarize a little bit who was I was the only coach or family as well?
04:30And can you tell me also the name of your coach and what is your background, where did you start
04:36tennis, etc.?
04:37Sorry?
04:38Tell me a bit also about your background.
04:41Where did you start tennis?
04:42I think that you're training in the academy in Brazil now, FlySport, is it correct?
04:47Did you ever train here or did you have another club before?
04:52When I was 14, I'm actually from Goiania, one city.
04:57And then I changed it to Brazil when I was 14 and training Dumont Tennis Academy with Kike Grandjero and
05:04Dumont, Santos Dumont.
05:06And in the box today was Kike, Dumont, unfortunately, he wasn't here, but for sure he was watching in the
05:14TV.
