00:01As you see, the tarp is on the field, the rain is falling, umbrellas, ponchos, you get the idea.
00:09Giants and Cubs coming up once we get started.
00:13That's better late than never, and really all things considered, not too bad of a delay with some rainy weather
00:18in Chicago.
00:19Edward Cabrera fresh off the injured list with that right middle finger blister.
00:23So because today is so moist, there's a lot of moisture in the air because of the rain,
00:28they will have to be very careful with him because that blister can arise due to the moisture.
00:33So Tommy Hattieby told me they will be wiping off his finger a lot during the game.
00:38So if you see him do that, even in between pitches, that's what they're trying to avoid is re-aggravating
00:43that blister.
00:43On the ground, Swanson there to collect.
00:47And roll him out.
00:48Rafael Devers here, and a sluggish start for him.
00:53He's seven homies, swing and a miss, up in it, struck him out.
00:58Just overwhelmed him with a 97-mile-an-hour fastball.
01:01Devers got a lot of moving parts, big late kick, and he doesn't get it down in time.
01:06Arise, a good contact hitter, hitting 325.
01:10Arise hits one to right field and deep.
01:13That one is one hop into the ivy.
01:16Arise is going to speed his way into second.
01:19First hit of the game is a two-out double.
01:21And if there's a chance for Arise to get another home run, you would expect it here.
01:25If he didn't quite pull it as much, maybe has a homer, but big two-out double here for Arise,
01:30and he continues to stay high.
01:31Now Willie Adamas with a runner at second.
01:34Time home runs now for Adamas.
01:35Chance for the Giants to grab an early lead.
01:37Adamas blasts one to deep left field, headed toward the top of the bleachers, gone!
01:44And I think that one made it all the way out onto Waveland.
01:48Two-nothing Giants.
01:50This one, 427, 107 off the bat, coming in hard, coming out harder.
01:56And the Giants offense, you can just feel the confidence as they continue to terrorize at the plate on this
02:04road trip.
02:05And it just keeps getting better and better.
02:07Stay locked in.
02:09I think that might have been onto Waveland Avenue.
02:11That was over the bleachers.
02:13Here's a deep drive into right center.
02:15Actually, not quite as deep as I initially thought.
02:18Suzuki's going to make the catch, and that ends the inning.
02:21But San Francisco scores twice.
02:23And Robbie Ray on the season, 3-6 with a 4-4-5, 62-2 in two-thirds innings, 59
02:27strikeouts.
02:28He has allowed 13 home runs, a bit of a fly ball pitcher.
02:31Just having a real hard time his last few starts going deep into games.
02:35It's a high pitch count, not great command lately,
02:38and I think that's the priority for Robbie today.
02:41It got jammed and hits a pop-up.
02:43Lee's got a long way to come.
02:45And Jung-Hoo, look out!
02:47A collision, and hopefully everybody's all right.
02:50Both guys were really calling for it, I thought, loudly.
02:54And Lee is the guy who squeezes the ball, and it looks like he survived it.
02:58It's just been happening too much for Robbie, for all these Giants pitchers.
03:02The frustration level is rising in that Giants dugout over one issue, and it's the walks.
03:10But now one of the most dangerous hitters in this Cubs lineup.
03:13Ian Happ, for sure.
03:14He's the leading OPS for the Cubs, 8-43 OPS.
03:18That one popped up on the infield.
03:21Devers with the wind kind of pushing it.
03:24He's got it, no problem.
03:25And the inning is over.
03:27Well, two walks there issued by Robbie Ray, but he worked out of it.
03:31A good inning for Edward Cabrera.
03:341-2-3 with a pair of strikeouts.
03:36He's got three in the game.
03:38And we go to the bottom of inning, number two.
03:40Giants two, Cubs nothing.
03:42First hit of the ballgame for the Cubs.
03:44It's a leadoff single for Carson Kelly, and let's see if that leads to bigger and better things.
03:49Ray, a high set.
03:50Runner not going.
03:51And the 3-2, swung on and missed.
03:5494 with a fastball.
03:56Just a challenge pitch over the middle, and he gets Bush.
03:59Robbie Ray, his first strikeout.
04:01Swanson pops it up.
04:03Devers right behind first base.
04:07Devers for out number three.
04:08Leadoff single.
04:10No runs.
04:10On to the third.
04:11Cabrera is rolling.
04:12Cabrera now with four strikeouts.
04:14He looks good.
04:16Sometimes you're concerned, Zach, about a guy's command after he returns from the injured list.
04:21But, so far, that's not really an issue with Edwards.
04:23Cubs are working Robbie Ray every inning.
04:26The second walk of the inning.
04:28The fourth in the ballgame for Robbie Ray.
04:31And the Cubs now have two on with two out.
04:33And Ian Happ coming to the plate.
04:35This was the exact spot that Happ was in in the first inning.
04:40You can sense the frustration now from Robbie Ray.
04:43He got him with the changeup.
04:45Once again, Robbie Ray pitches through two walks in an inning.
04:48It's a 2-0 Giants lead.
04:50Now the Giants have something going here in the top of the fourth.
04:53Men at first and second.
04:54Big spot for the 21-year-old.
04:57Wrigley for the first time.
04:58And he hits one that Cabrera has scoot under his glove.
05:02And that's going to be a hit.
05:03That's a break for the Giants.
05:05If that one just gets right through, that might be a double play.
05:08A huge break to bounce off of Cabrera right there.
05:10And Cabrera showing some frustration.
05:13Yeah, tough break.
05:14If he lets it go, it's an inning-ending double play.
05:17Big opportunity right here for Matt Chapman.
05:19Now the bases are loaded.
05:20This has been the spot, Hunter, for the Giants.
05:23The Giants have hit five grand slams in, what, the last three weeks?
05:27Slams Ken Sisko.
05:29I don't know how you would call that.
05:30They had the slam Diego time.
05:32How do we name it?
05:33Let's find out.
05:34Chapman out to left center field.
05:36And it is gone into the basket.
05:40Another one.
05:42Six-nothing Giants.
05:44This is remarkable.
05:46Slab Ken Sisko, baby.
05:49How about that?
05:50Six-nothing Giants.
05:52The offense, rain or shine, bringing the noise.
05:57Is that their sixth of the year?
05:58Leading all of baseball.
06:00And their second in as many days.
06:03So that is the fourth hit in this fourth inning for San Francisco.
06:07Now Tommy Hadovy is going to come out of the dugout.
06:10Talk to Carreros at 71 pitches with two outs in the fourth.
06:15He's given up six runs.
06:17So back to the top of the lineup now.
06:19And Casey Schmidt, six-nothing Giants here in the fourth.
06:22Schmidt blasts one to left field.
06:24Headed for the bleachers.
06:26Gone.
06:28Casey Schmidt, eight-nothing Giants.
06:31This is a 104.8 no-doubter line drive missile.
06:37Casey Schmidt's an all-star.
06:38Put him on the team right now.
06:39This is going to get.
06:40They're not going to like this.
06:41No.
06:42I would take that personally.
06:43Cubs fans aren't real thrilled with Edward Cabrera.
06:47And he's coming out of the game.
06:48Craig Council makes a call to the bullpen.
06:50Jung-Hoo with a double.
06:52That's what I'm talking about, baby.
06:5413-game hitting streak.
06:56Stay hot.
06:57Jung-Hoo Lee.
06:58They love it.
06:58And the Giants are in business again.
07:00We're still just at the fifth.
07:01It is so fun to watch this offense right now.
07:04We want to add on just because, hey, wind's blowing out.
07:06It's Wrigley Field.
07:07We saw what happened yesterday in Milwaukee.
07:09Chapman out to right.
07:11Adamus will hustle back and tag.
07:13Kind of slips on the bag.
07:14But he'll get in to score anyway.
07:16Over to third.
07:17Lee.
07:17Chapman with a sacrifice fly.
07:19It's 9-0.
07:20See if Robbie Ray can get himself a ground ball.
07:22I'd like to see some more of these change-ups.
07:24I feel like that's his pitch that can get him a ground ball on a day like today.
07:28On the ground to third.
07:29Chapman has it.
07:30There's one.
07:31A rise to first.
07:32Got him.
07:32Double play.
07:34Exactly what Robbie Ray was looking for.
07:36And he has thrown five scoreless innings here this afternoon in Chicago.
07:42Here come the Giants once again.
07:44Two on.
07:45Nobody out.
07:46And the hitter will be Rafi Devers.
07:48Devers out into right center.
07:50That'll be a hit.
07:51Jonah Cox flying around third.
07:53And the ball gets booted out there.
07:55Devers running all the way.
07:57Makes it into second.
07:5810-0 Giants.
08:00I can't think of the last time I've felt this kind of a road trip offensively from the Giants.
08:05It has been incredible.
08:07Rise out to left center.
08:09That should be deep enough.
08:10We'll see.
08:11PCA catches.
08:12Schmidt will tag.
08:13And he'll come in to score.
08:15Why not go in with a belly flop slide even with no play at the plate?
08:18Having fun like a little kid at Wrigley today.
08:21One away.
08:21A man at second.
08:22Giants leading 11-0.
08:24And here's Willie Adamas.
08:26Adamas.
08:26Skies one to left.
08:28Deep.
08:30And gone.
08:3313-0.
08:35Have a day at the plate, Willie Adamas.
08:37And he's earned it.
08:38He's fought.
08:39He's taken his walks.
08:40I told you I've never seen his swing so connected that he knew this one.
08:44No doubt about it.
08:45102.5 up in the wind.
08:48Half the way up the bleachers.
08:49A new season high for the Giants.
08:51Four home runs.
08:53Two of them from Willie.
08:54Cubs having to go deep into their bullpen here this afternoon.
08:57It's Ethan Roberts.
09:00And he's going to face Matt Chapman with runners at first and second and one out.
09:04Chapman's already got five RBIs today.
09:07I'm thinking he's going deep.
09:08That's what happens.
09:09When you've got a team that's clicking and you're passing the baton and everybody's hot.
09:13Chapman down the left field line.
09:15Chapman down the left field line.
09:15Crushed it.
09:17And gone.
09:19And only the sign kept it from going out onto Waveland.
09:2416-0.
09:26I don't know if I've ever seen anything like this.
09:29Oh my goodness.
09:31That was awesome.
09:33110 on the line.
09:35What the heck?
09:36They're on at the corners now with nobody out.
09:39The best opportunity for the Cubs to break through in this game.
09:41It'll bring up Carson Kelly now.
09:44Line drive.
09:45Base hit.
09:46Carson Franklin.
09:48RBI single.
09:50And the Cubs are on the board.
09:52It's 16-1.
09:53Isaiah Suzuki looks at a ball up high to begin the bottom of the eighth inning.
09:57Fly ball left field.
09:59Back down its way.
10:00And gone, Isaiah Suzuki.
10:03Solo shot to left.
10:05Right along the well into the bleachers.
10:07And it's now 16-2.
10:09Here comes Miguel Amaya, who's 0-3 this afternoon.
10:13Amaya swings.
10:14Drills one deep in the air to left.
10:15Racing back is Haas.
10:17It's over his head.
10:18Bangs off the wall.
10:19Haas having trouble picking it up and left.
10:21Around third and racing home is Ramirez.
10:23He's going to score.
10:24It's now 16-3.
10:27As Amaya stops at second with a Ribi double.
10:30Jonah Cox leads off the ninth inning.
10:32And on the first pitch, it's a deep drive to center.
10:36And it is gone.
10:38Against a position player pitching, Jonah Cox at Wrigley Field has a big league homer.
10:46Wow.
10:47So his first big league hit off a position player.
10:49His first big league homer, off a position player.
10:53It counts.
10:55It counts.
10:56Smith.
10:57Deep left.
10:59Gone.
11:01They're just taking batting practice off of Carson Kelly.
11:04What is going on?
11:05A new all-time record.
11:08The Giants have been playing here literally since 1914.
11:12And it's the most home runs they've ever hit in a game at Wrigley Field.
11:15The Giants going back into the bullpen.
11:17So we thought maybe Carson Seymour would finish the game.
11:19Instead, give Dylan Smith, who's been up for a couple days, back up for the second time.
11:23A chance to pitch.
11:25Regman on the ground.
11:26That's a fair ball.
11:27Buddy Kennedy all the way across in time.
11:30And what a way for the Giants to finish off an historic day at Historic Wrigley.
11:3518-3 Giants.
11:38This incredible road trip of offense continues.
