00:34on to reflect on both his career and the impact he had on those around him saying they know how
00:38dearly he will be missed by friends colleagues and fans and noting that he loved his job very much
00:44according to the statement Head always considered himself incredibly lucky to work alongside talented
00:49people throughout a career that spanned several decades Emily and Daisy also said it had been an
00:54honor and a privilege to be his daughters and witnessed firsthand the effect both he and his
00:58work had on so many people. Head became a household name in the late 1990s thanks to his role as
01:04Rupert Giles, Buffy Summers trusted mentor and watcher on the hit supernatural drama Buffy the
01:10Vampire Slayer. The role earned him an international fan base and remains one of his most iconic
01:15performances. Over the years he built an impressive list of television and film credits fans also knew
01:21him from roles in Little Britain where he had a recurring role and the BBC fantasy series Merlin
01:26in which he played King Uther Pendragon. More recently Head introduced himself to a new generation
01:31of viewers as Rupert Mannion the scheming former football club owner on the Emmy-winning comedy
01:36series Ted Lasso. His additional credits included appearances in The Iron Lady, Persuasion, The In-Betweeners
01:43and Man-Child among many other projects throughout his decades-long career. In their statement his
01:48daughters acknowledged the deep loss felt by those who knew and admired him but said they take comfort in
01:53knowing his legacy will live on through his work. How lucky we are to know we are able to watch

01:57doing what he loved even when he is no longer with us they wrote. The family concluded their message
02:02by asking for privacy during this difficult time. Head's death comes just months after the loss of
02:07his long-time partner Sarah Fisher. Fisher died in January at the age of 61.
