00:00In July this year, KMT criminal investigation units commenced strike force
00:04recycling to investigate a fraud syndicate claiming to be psychics and
00:08allegedly defrauding victims of their savings and property. The investigation
00:13identified the syndicate has been operating in the Greater Sydney region
00:16since at least 2006. In August a 48 year old female and 49 year old male were
00:23charged with multiple fraud related offences and they remained before the
00:26courts. On the 20th November police executed a search warrant at an address
00:32in Punchbowl where a 47 year old female was arrested. A number of items connected
00:37to this investigation were seized and the 47 year old female was charged with 13
00:43fraud related offences. Police will allege that this syndicate were claiming to be
00:47psychics and during that process with the victims they were encouraging them to
00:51provide them with property and money.
