00:00On the night of May 31st, a man living alone on a small farm in southern Brazil pointed his phone
00:06at the trees. And what he filmed turned him from a 40,000 follower animal rescuer into one of the
00:12most talked about people in the entire country in a matter of days. Glowing lights that hovered for
00:19almost half an hour. Animals in a panic. A sound he described as a machine grinding over his roof.
00:25And then, the part nobody expected, strange shapes found on satellite maps nearby.
00:31This is the case that shook Brazil this week. And the deeper you go, the stranger it gets.
00:45First, context. Because it matters.
00:49Make Liao isn't a UFO hunter. He's an animal rescue content creator.
00:53He lives on a chakra, a small rural property, in the Itambizinho area of Campo Largo, in the
01:00metropolitan region of Curitiba, in the Brazilian state of Paraná. It's roughly an hour and a half
01:06from the city. Dirt roads, dense forest, pasture, very few neighbors. For years, his channel was about
01:13saving animals. Until the last weekend of May, when, in his words, everything changed. According to Make,
01:20it didn't start at night. It started in the daylight. He says he woke up to find his animals, horses
01:26and birds,
01:27extremely agitated, nervous, not acting like themselves. He says he heard sounds coming from
01:34the forest. At first, he assumed it was a wild animal, maybe an ansa, a jaguar. But he claims the
01:40noise was unlike anything he'd heard before. He described it as something choking or like a rope
01:46snapping under tension. And then, by his account, that grinding, machine-like sound moved. From the
01:53woods to directly over the roof of his house. Then night fell. And this is the footage that went
02:00around the world. In the video, you can see a cluster of lights gathered at a single point over the
02:05tree
02:05line in the direction of the hills toward São Luís de Purna. Mike claims the object hovered there for
02:12somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes. He estimated it was huge, somewhere between 50 and 70 meters
02:18across. In his own words, he believed he'd just seen a giant alien ship. And then, he says, the light
02:26switched off and the object passed over his house in the dark before disappearing entirely. He claims he
02:32watched it leave. After thousands of people flooded his profile, asking what exactly he saw,
02:38Make did something striking. He drew it, a diamond-shaped craft, rows of lights along the edges, a separate
02:45detail beneath it. And here's where the human side comes in. In his most recent videos, Make appears
02:52visibly shaken, at points, in tears. He insists this was never about engagement or money, that his focus
02:59has always been rescued animals. He's asked his followers not to panic. And he claims he's been
03:04receiving threats and insults aimed at his family. The numbers are almost as wild as the footage.
03:12In just a few days, Make's Instagram reportedly jumped from around 40,000 followers to over 1 million.
03:19A small animal rescue fundraiser he was running, originally with a goal of about 1,200 res, blew past
03:2521,000. The case was picked up by Brazilian TV and shared by UFO research pages across the country.
03:32He also claims that Instagram removed some of his UFO-related stories and publicly questioned why.
03:39Make of that what you will. But the part that actually made my skin crawl wasn't the video. It was
03:45what people found when they stopped looking at the sky. People started digging and started looking at the
03:51ground. And they found something on the satellite maps. At these coordinates, in a patch of dense forest with
03:58no road, no trail, no clear way in, there appear to be two distinct, unusual shapes. One looks triangular,
04:06the other, circular, with what some say look like markings on its surface. Naturally, people connected it to
04:13the case. And then it got stranger. Because about a kilometer and a half to the south, same forest, same
04:19isolation, there's a third anomaly. People have started calling it simply, Object 2,
04:25two. An unidentifiable reddish mark on the map, no clear shape, no obvious explanation. Sitting in
04:32terrain it has no business being in. Three odd marks, one isolated stretch of forest, no roads in,
04:39no roads out. Now look at where these things sit. Above the tree line, right beside a river. No paths,
04:46no trails, almost nobody living nearby. A completely isolated pocket of land. If that sounds familiar,
04:54it should. Because that is, almost word for word, how Make described the spot his lights hovered over.
05:01Above the trees, over a river, deep enclosed forest, far from anyone. And here's the thing about the
05:09distance. People keep pointing out these shapes are about 55 kilometers from Make's farm in a neighboring
05:15municipality, as if that settles it. But out here, 55 kilometers isn't a different world. It's the same
05:22world. The same rural Parana Highlands. The same forest. The same rivers. The same emptiness.
05:29Whatever interest this region holds, and people in the UFO community have flagged this whole corridor.
05:36It doesn't stop at a city line on a map. But I'm going to be straight with you because that's
05:41the whole
05:41point of this channel. None of this is proof. The satellite imagery of those shapes is dated September
05:472023. Almost three years before Make ever picked up his phone. There is, right now, no evidence
05:54directly linking any of these marks to what he filmed. So I'm not telling you these are alien craft
06:00parked in the woods. I'm telling you this. A region people already watch. Terrain that matches the
06:05witnesses' own words. Three anomalies in one empty stretch of forest. And a man 55 kilometers away,
06:13filming lights he can't explain. That's not a conclusion. That's a reason to keep looking.
06:18And if you're sitting there thinking UFOs only ever show up in America, this exact corner of the world
06:24has one of the densest UFO histories on Earth. The nearest big city to Make's farm is Curitiba. And
06:31Curitiba isn't just any city. It is officially nicknamed the capital of flying saucers in Brazil.
06:39According to Brazil's own national archives and air force records, the country logged at least 861 UFO
06:46reports between 1952 and 2022. The state of Paraná accounts for 111 of the public ones,
06:55and Curitiba alone holds around 80, more than any other city in the entire country.
07:00This isn't new. Watch how far back it goes. December 1954. In broad daylight, three disc-shaped
07:09objects reportedly hovered over Curitiba for hours. So many people panicked that shops in the city center
07:16closed early. That case was investigated by the Air Force's very first official UFO research project.
07:22May 1986. The night Brazilians still call the night of the UFOs. More than 20 unidentified objects entered the
07:31airspace over São Paulo, Rio, Goiás, and Paraná. The Air Force scrambled fighter jets to chase them.
07:39And here's the part that separates Brazil from a lot of other countries. The Minister of the Air Force went
07:44on to confirm it, publicly, in a press conference. And it never really stopped. Curitiba neighborhoods
07:51reporting lights in the same night, in the 1990s. Residents calling the Regional Air Defense Center
07:57in 2000. Cases stretching all the way to today. Now, to be fair, researchers point out two grounded
08:05reasons this region racks up so many reports. The geography is perfect for sky watching, high ground,
08:12open land, low light pollution. And Curitiba happens to host one of Brazil's main air defense
08:18control centers, so people here are simply more primed to look up and report. And most reports,
08:24in the end, do get explained. Most? Not all. And that's the point. Whatever Mike Leon saw over
08:32those trees, he didn't see it in a vacuum. He saw it standing in what may be the single most
08:37UFO active region of an entire continent. A place that has been looking at strange lights in the sky
08:43for over 70 years. So what about the official side? The Brazilian Air Force, the FAB, responded through
08:51its airspace control department, DCAA. Their statement, on May 31st, no object was detected by air
08:59defense radar, and no local airport reported any unidentified objects. That doesn't tell us what
09:05make filmed. But it does tell us that whatever it was, it didn't show up on the systems designed to
09:11track aircraft. And there's one more layer, which make himself raised. In interviews, he claims this
09:17wasn't the first strange thing on his land. He alleges that about six months earlier, nine sheep
09:23vanished from the property, and that animals had turned up dead in conditions he found difficult to
09:27explain. We can't verify those claims. We're presenting them exactly as he told them. But if true,
09:34it reframes May 31st not as a one-off, but as the loudest event in a longer story.
09:40And this story isn't closed. It's barely begun, because the case got big enough that the researchers
09:46are getting involved. Anubis, a Brazilian ufology organization, announced it's sending a team,
09:52led by ufologist Dirzo Klemba, out to the property itself, not to film reactions, to look for physical
09:59evidence, to examine the ground, the vegetation, the exact spot where make says the lights hovered over
10:05the trees. And that's the difference between a viral clip and an actual case. A viral clip ends when the
10:11views slow down. A case ends when someone walks the land and finds something. We're going to be
10:17following what they come back with, so if you want to know how this ends, you're going to want to
10:21stick
10:21around. So where does that leave us? A man with no history in this world films something he can't
10:28explain. His animals panic. A fence goes down. Strange sounds. Lights that hover for half an hour
10:35and then go dark. A nation glued to its phones. And official radar that saw nothing at all. Maybe
10:42there's a mundane answer for all of it. Maybe several. But maybe is exactly why cases like this stay with
10:49us.
