00:00From a kitchen to a master suite.
00:02Sometimes, a project requires radical choices.
00:06This choice freed up 6 square meters to accommodate a complete bedroom.
00:10We show you a layout plan, then the execution.
00:13This bedroom has a dressing room, headboard, and a bathroom measuring 2.8 square meters.
00:18Here we go !
00:19So we find ourselves in a four-room apartment.
00:23approximately 90 square meters,
00:26which is right here, and we're going to focus primarily on the living room and kitchen area that you have here,
00:33since we are going to rework them to create a master suite.
00:36We enter this way, through a long corridor that leads to a large living room,
00:41and in the alcove, a kitchen.
00:43That's where we're going to tackle the ranking.
00:45We're going to install our entire U-shaped kitchen.
00:48over the entirety of U,
00:50as well as our double partitions which close off the kitchen.
00:53Today, the refrigerator is here, which we are also removing.
00:56We have a very good technical column,
00:59who has the approval of the condominium association for grey water disposal excluding toilets,
01:04that is to say shower, kitchen.
01:07The rest is as long as we exist.
01:08Alternatively, we could have considered integrating a manager's toilet.
01:12Our kitchen will eventually be moved here.
01:16And that's another project, in another video.
01:18Since this one focuses mainly on several questions about the parental suite.
01:24For those who haven't seen the entire apartment,
01:26You will find it at the end of the video.
01:27The link will be there directly.
01:29So now we're going to go and reclaim those 6 square meters
01:32to make that part of it our master suite.
01:37Let's clean things up a little.
01:40To go further.
01:46For our master suite, we will first partition the space
01:51so that we can actually see how to arrange the interior of the master suite.
01:59So here, we're installing a partition, a double partition, for a pocket door.
02:04in order to minimize the door's footprint.
02:09We will also keep the bathroom, which will be at the back of this space,
02:15We will keep exactly 1.52 meters.
02:19You'll see why later.
02:21We're going to have our little partition of 7.
02:23And so, there will be 340 centimeters left at the level of the room.
02:29So, at the level of this new partition, we are going to install a half-partition of 60 centimeters.
02:37Then, a passageway without a door.
02:41And the rest of the partitioning, therefore, between the bathroom and the bedroom.
02:49So we're going to furnish this room with a headboard.
02:53We'll come back to that a little later in the video.
02:55in the production section with several projections.
02:59So here we have a headboard that is built in an L shape.
03:03To be able to integrate niches here.
03:08On each side, we will have columns.
03:11For drawers, shelves and also for the center.
03:17For dressing room needs.
03:20And here, a lovely bed.
03:24A 160 is coming to be installed.
03:30Next, we needed an office.
03:34So here, we have created a fold-down desk that can be unfolded as needed.
03:40So, for this room, we have a passage here with the sliding door.
03:44And direct access to the terrace.
03:46In our bathroom,
03:49So we're going to install our shower tray here.
03:54Since we are close to the column, here, the technical column.
03:57So, first we will create a partition to be able to integrate niches on each side.
04:10On the washbasin side and on the shower side to install a nice 120 by 80 shower tray.
04:20Here too, as it is quite deep, with a width of 50 cm,
04:24We're going to thicken the back of our partition wall here to install niches.
04:30to have a little more storage space.
04:31And a piece of furniture with a countertop basin and wall-mounted taps,
04:36with a drawer under the sink.
04:40Next, opposite, we're going to install a dressing room.
04:44So, here we had a half-partition of 60 cm in order to be able to install a commercial wardrobe.
04:54Then, we'll install our towel warmer.
04:59And for the room's heating needs, we will install a radiator here.
05:10Traffic is flowing smoothly.
05:12So, we have an 80cm opening, our sliding pocket door that goes through here.
05:16Everything is fine.
05:17New lighting; we're going to install a spotlight here.
05:21a spotlight opposite and a spotlight to connect and illuminate the different spaces.
05:27In the dressing room, a dual lighting system is integrated for the technical function.
05:31Regarding the master suite,
05:33a wall light, sorry, right here,
05:36and a second one is applied there.
05:38The central pendant light and a wall light allow for different lights to be controlled directly opposite.
05:47Because, as a result, we are incorporating a back-and-forth movement with the partitioning
05:50which allows for good fluidity in the lighting.
05:53At this stage of the project, we do have some well-defined spaces.
05:57We end up with a bathroom that is 2.8 square meters.
06:00And opposite, a small dressing room, one meter wide.
06:03Compact but very functional.
06:04The remaining area is 13.5 square meters.
06:08This includes, of course, everything related to the headboard and storage.
06:13It's effective, it works well.
06:15To learn more, you will find a complete article in the linked description.
06:19with a plan, costs or additional resources for this project.
06:23But in the meantime, we move on to the implementation phase.
06:26Our 6 square meter kitchen is going to disappear.
06:29It is completely removed for repositioning elsewhere.
06:32and make way for our master suite.
06:34Cleanliness, installation of sliding doors
06:37to close off the living space towards the future bedroom.
06:41Next, we'll tackle the layout of our bathroom.
06:44with the central separation of the partition
06:46which leaves room on either side for 2 zones, 2 tiled niches
06:51with finishing strips.
06:53Two are positioned on the inside of the shower
06:56which were subsequently enlarged during the construction phase
06:58and two others positioned on the sink side
07:01to have a little more storage space and general ease of use.
07:08The construction site is set up with plasterboard panels
07:10which will then be processed and adapted
07:12then the installation of tiles
07:15across the entire height with a finishing joint.
07:18The result is very nice for a Verdon effect.
07:23Next, we'll tackle our headboard storage unit.
07:27The right-hand side is made of Ikea cabinets
07:29positioned on a block of plasterboard.
07:31The one on the left that answers her is also in an Ikea cabinet.
07:34And the central unit, a shelf, plasterboard, wood finish
07:38which also extends into a recess
07:42on which there are 2 niches
07:44and on top of which we place our famous Ikea furniture.
07:47A customized effect with excellent value for money
07:50that you can reproduce at home.
07:52The details are in the article just below.
07:56So, the implementation phase has begun.
07:58with all the plasterboard panels that are made
08:00and the coverings are placed.
08:02The laminate flooring, the paint,
08:05the tiles, the wallpaper
08:07for a high-quality result.
08:09We can see that the owner has already
08:11well taken possession of the premises
08:12and it seems very nice to live there.
08:16Tell us in the comments
08:17how would you have arranged this space?
