00:00Welcome to Positive Post, where we decode the future before it fully arrives.
00:05I'm your host, Hamza Sabia, and today we bring you a first look at something that feels less
00:11like aviation news and more like a glimpse into tomorrow's skies, the world's first ever triple
00:17engine fighter aircraft, now powering up in China. Before we dive in, if you enjoy clear,
00:23powerful stories about technology, defense, and the forces shaping our world, don't forget to like

00:38Images circulating on Chinese social media have ignited global attention. For the first time,
00:45China's ultra-long-range 6th generation fighter, still officially unnamed, has been seen with all
00:51three of its engines powered on, glowing as if moments away from take-off. Developed by the
00:57Chengdu Aircraft Corporation and first revealed in December 2024, this aircraft already holds a
01:03historic title, the only fighter in the world designed with a triple engine configuration.
01:09What makes this design extraordinary is not just the number of engines, but how they are arranged.
01:15A larger central engine is flanked by two smaller side engines, a configuration believed to balance
01:22immense size with a viable thrust-to-weight ratio. This is no ordinary fighter. It is reportedly the
01:30largest fighter aircraft ever developed, built not just for dogfights, but for dominance across vast
01:36distances. Analysts estimate its range could exceed 8,000 kilometers, allowing it to fly deep over the
01:43Pacific without refueling and place targets more than 4,000 kilometers away within reach.
01:49Such endurance transforms the idea of air power, turning the fighter into a strategic asset capable
01:56of long-duration missions far beyond traditional combat zones. The latest images also reveal refined
02:03details. A revised twin main landing gear with side-by-side wheels suggests this is among the newest of at
02:11least four known prototypes already flying. The rapid appearance of these prototypes over just 13
02:18months signals an unusually fast development pace, one that has defense experts around the world paying
02:25very close attention. One of the biggest questions surrounding this aircraft lies within its engines.
02:32There is speculation that it may incorporate advanced concepts such as adaptive cycle technology or even a
02:38third stream of bypass air. These technologies could allow the fighter to switch between fuel-efficient
02:45cruising and high-thrust combat modes, while also generating massive electrical power for onboard systems.
02:52That power could support what is rumored to be the largest fighter radar ever installed,
02:57and potentially even directed energy weapons.
03:01China's progress in jet engine development adds weight to these possibilities.
03:06The WS-15 engine, now confirmed on operational J-20 fighters, has achieved thrust and efficiency levels
03:14comparable to the most advanced Western engines. New J-20 variants using this engine already surpass
03:21every other operational fighter in war thrust. Whether China can successfully scale this expertise into
03:28adaptive or three-stream engines remains uncertain, but the ambition is unmistakable.
03:34Timing may be the most striking element of all. Just days before these engine-on images appeared,
03:41reports confirmed the first flight of the fourth prototype. At this pace, the aircraft could enter
03:47service in the early 2030s, potentially years ahead of rival sixth-generation programs.
03:54By comparison, the US Air Force's next-generation fighter is not expected to fly until 2028, with
04:02a operational service projected much later. What we are witnessing is not just the testing of a new
04:08aircraft, but a reshaping of the global air power timeline. The glow of those three engines is more than
04:15heat, it is a signal that the next era of military aviation may be arriving sooner than anyone expected.
04:21This has been Positive Post, bringing clarity to the stories shaping our future.
