00:01He was the guy on the rocket that was going where no other rocket had gone.
00:06There was no doubt that the most influential artist at that period of time was Peter Frampton.
00:15It was literally the summer of Frampton.
00:18These girls went completely apeshit and he'd become a teenage idol.
00:23We used to play and get our clothes torn off and they'd just climb in through the windows.
00:27It was fine for a couple of years.
00:28He was my Taylor Swift.
00:30He could play and that's all we've done ever since.
00:35Peter Frampton was my first rock concert and you don't forget that.
00:39I guess it's like your first sexual experience.
00:45Frampton comes alive.
00:47It's really hard to quantify how massive that record was.
00:50That's the definition of what a live recording a live show should sound like.
00:54Well, this is the peak of rock.
00:56Right here.
00:56I wonder how you're feeling.
00:58I think that album really showed off as guitar play.
01:01It left all of us kind of flat out and like, wow.
01:05You don't realize what the onslaught is like until you're number one in the world.
01:10And that's when the shit hit the fan.
01:17After the success of Phantom Comes Alive, it was a difficult thing to deal with.
01:21Being in the eye of the hurricane, you know, he was the golden god.
01:25They don't give you the handbook for that.
01:29Drinking too much, too many drugs, and then a car accident broke just about every bone in my body.
01:39It's not easy for him to do the tour.
01:42You learn to see your parents in a different light.
01:44You see them as fragile.
01:46When was the first time you got wind that there's something wrong with your dad?
01:51I don't think I'm going to be able to do this much longer.
01:54I firmly believe that's one of the reasons that you're not in a wheelchair today.
01:58But this guy was a survivor.
02:00That's what I thought about him, and sure enough, he proved me to be right.
02:06I was astonished that this guy wasn't inducted 35 years ago.
02:12I give you Peter Frampton.
02:16I just feel this incredible love and encouragement coming to me.
02:20I can't thank you enough.
