00:00hi dreamers welcome back to our channel I don't know if you have seen this
00:07sweater earlier or not but this was the one I made for like 2020 or 21 winter
00:15to be honest my idea was to wear for that particular winter but I have
00:22completed that only much later than the intended time so I completed it for my
00:33summer actually it was too chunky for that but at the end of the year I used it
00:38for my 2023 and 24 winter but I grew so like I need to find something even more
00:48interesting I don't want to buy another sweater I like the color it was good at
00:55that time and so I unwound it and packed it and I saw an interesting video where it
01:02said that crocheting requires more yarn than knitting so I want I wanted to check
01:11that so all the unwound yarns were kept in a particular container and this is the
01:18pattern I used for knitting I'll be adding the pattern below in the website if
01:24you want you can check that otherwise you can screenshot it I'll be using the same
01:32black and pink combo but I'll be using alternative colors for alternative blocks
01:38you can see for the base I will be starting with black after that for 15
01:45knits I think I'll be doing 15 square and 15 cross 15 square and another 15 cross 15
01:54square first one if I use black as outer corners for the next one I'll be using
02:02pink for the outer corners you can see that in the video see for knitting as I'm
02:10still a beginner I had a struggle to find the actual length I have to leave behind so
02:18for casting on I tried multiple times and finally this was the attempt I made it
02:24successfully so
02:28first off I'm casting for the entire row I'll be making like two pieces for the
02:37front and one piece for the back in this case I'm making the first piece for the
02:45front part so I'll show you once it is completed like first 15 square 15 is used
02:58for first square next 15 would be for the another square
03:06see for the base I have used black from the next row onwards I'll be using
03:13alternative colors for the first 15 I'll be using black
03:23the struggle I'm having here is because I have not mastered the art of tension in
03:31casting off after this you can see it gets much easier in seeing the struggle
03:39here you should not run away from knitting knitting is also interesting see after
03:45completing 15
04:00this is the base for the first 15 cross 15 I have done this in black for the next 15
04:09I'll be using pink
04:20you
04:47after completing the entire row you can
04:50see that see there is a 15 pink 15 black
04:5415 pink and 15 black there are four sets
04:57of 15 x 15 for the one panel of front row
05:02I'll be doing another four set for the
05:05other pair of front row after this you
05:07can see the pattern and change color
05:10accordingly
05:28when you change color be sure to know
05:31which grid you are working on like for
05:35the first grid I have used black as a
05:38base so the color change would be for the
05:42next one base is pink so the color
05:45change would be for black you have to
05:48concentrate on that that is where I made
05:52lots of mistakes so when you work on it
05:55you should focus on which grid you are
05:58working as much as you are focusing on
06:01the pattern
06:11you
06:12you
06:13you
06:13you
06:23you
06:40you
06:41you
06:42you
06:43you
06:43you
07:44You just have to remember the color change.
07:47That's it.
07:47It's a very simple pattern that you can follow.
07:51So see as it goes you can see it takes the shape.
07:56You can see the grids and patterns.
08:00See 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 grids I have completed.
08:04And 4 is the base grid that I have chosen.
08:07You can see the mistake that I have made in that flower.
08:10I told you earlier the mistake we usually make is with color change that is what I did.
08:15But I don't want to correct it because that is saying that completely perfect work would trap our soul.
08:23I want my sweater to have that V neck in the front part.
08:28So I am reducing few stitches in the front.
08:32I don't know how knitting community does it but I have used a crochet needle to do that.
08:40So for every row I will be reducing 1 and 2 stitches alternatively to do to have that V.
08:51And I have started doing my second part of the front.
08:56See you can see it was so much work to do and so much concentration required.
09:02So I was watching a show and did it.
09:05This is the back panel I have done.
09:09See you can see like that it has 4 plus 4.
09:14Here it has total 8 panels.
09:16But still it was after I have not considered that stitching part.
09:24So after that if I just stitch what I have already made would result in that too tight kind of
09:34look.
09:34So I made a small patch for the hip area.
09:39See this is the back panel.
09:45The back side looks like this.
09:49And this is the front panel.
09:53This is what I showed you making the one I had mistake.
09:58See you can see there the mistake is there.
10:00And this is the other end which I was doing while watching the show.
10:05Like you can see by reducing that 1 and 2 stitches alternatively a V shape has been created.
10:15And once like 17 stitches remain kind of stage is reached you can just complete the final row with that
10:24without any reduction.
10:24And these 2 parts I will be doing it for the hip area.
10:30You can stitch each pieces together.
10:33Like I will be showing a little bit of it.
10:38And I will complete the entire work behind the screen.
10:43See I completed it.
10:44I stitched it.
10:46But still it doesn't give a finished look.
10:48So for the outline I will be doing small strips of band like this to complete the look.
11:02For this I will be doing knit and purl alternatively so that the strip remains flat.
11:10Otherwise they tend to curl if I just did knitting or just purling then they would just curl around.
11:19For that I will be doing alternative knit and purl stitches.
11:24After completing it I will be stitching them together.
11:28And I will be doing this for all the borders.
11:31Like here I am showing it for the neck.
11:34I will be doing similarly for the hand and hip area.
11:40To give that complete look.
11:46So this is how I have turned my complete crocheted sweater into a completely knitted sweater.
11:56If I have to tell what I felt about it.
12:02It definitely used lesser yarn compared to the crocheting.
12:06And also it felt a little lighter.
12:11This is the remaining yarn I had after completing the work.
12:15And this is the finished work.
12:16You can see the amount of details it has added.
12:20And it also weighted much lighter.
12:23I am not saying this is better than that.
12:25I am just saying if you want a lightweight intricate pattern then go for knitting.
12:31Otherwise crocheting.
12:33Otherwise crocheting is completely cosy one.
12:35And this is the final look of the knit.
12:39In bright sunlight this is the front look and this is the back look.
12:44I have shown how it looks on me.
