00:00At long last, the NBA Finals are here. New York City and San Antonio are buzzing.
00:05I'm buzzing. The NBA is buzzing. Game one of the NBA Finals tips off tonight in San Antonio
00:12with the Spurs hosting my Knicks. And honestly, I am just obsessed. First of all,
00:18you walk the streets of New York and New York is absolutely fired up. Everything,
00:23it's orange and blue everywhere. Orange and blue skies. And I got to tell you, it's easy to say,
00:29well, 1999. 99, that's not even a comparison. That was an upstart Knicks team, an eight seed.
00:37The Knicks didn't have Patrick Ewing, a healthy Ewing for the NBA Finals. You're happy to be there.
00:43It was a special time, obviously, but the Knicks had no shot to win a championship. I've never seen
00:48a championship. I never had the opportunity to celebrate a championship with my dad who passed
00:54away unexpectedly in July. He was obsessed with Clyde Frazier. He was obsessed with Willis,
01:00those championship teams in the early 70s. Just absolute heroes and legends and gods to him.
01:07I've never had a chance to celebrate a championship with my kids. There are people my age, my generation,
01:13who have never seen a Knicks championship. And for all of these years with the buffoonery and the
01:23mismanagement, the New York Knicks were a laughing stock. So to see the Knicks make this kind of run,
01:30to have the best points per game average, this is it. This is everything.
01:36I think.
