00:08so now let's go to wellness this is the last part so we saw you we saw your beautiful
00:16transformation you you got fit you shed weight but it wasn't easy if i'm not mistaken
00:23the journey was around two years so what was the turning point that led you to begin that
00:32wellness journey for yourself um i think the turning point is when i was looking at myself
00:39in the mirror there's one day i was looking at myself in the mirror i had no clothes and i
00:43couldn't recognize who i was seeing that's not who i remember to be and that's when i realized
00:49that wow i really lost her and i said i need to do something to get her back so i
00:56started
00:57to plan in my head what will come next and then everything that happened next was really like
01:04a product of that realization i was looking at myself in the mirror
01:09um to start with of course i need to love myself again and i i felt that i was not
01:17loving myself
01:17at all to allow myself to simply you know become unrecognizable um speaks volumes of what was my
01:28you know my my mind state at that time and i said okay you know this is the only body
01:35that i have
01:36and this is what they're gonna you know bring me to 50 years old 60 70 80 so it was
01:42not about looking
01:43good it was about being healthy and you know longevity so i was also looking at my daughter
01:49and say wow you know she's still small and i want to be able to enjoy all the stages of
01:55her life
01:56in good health i don't want to be like you know like um someone that will be a burden to
02:03her
02:03as i grow older so i said okay i need to fix this now there is still time so i
02:09went back to
02:10monitoring my diet i decided to you know to eat more i eat healthier but i actually had a health
02:17issue which i needed to address which was a hormonal issue that was a big part of why
02:22you know my body got so deformed and i got grow so big and so bloated so i said okay
02:29what do i need
02:29to do so i decided to go for a surgery to remove a cyst that i had it's an endometrial
02:34cyst
02:34and then after that surgery i said okay now i'm in full health again so what do i need to
02:40do next
02:41so i enrolled myself in the gym you know i i work out every day i i just ate like
02:48four things every
02:49meal which was eggs sweet potato animal protein is either chicken or steak and then ginger tea
02:58that's all i ate for six months and um yeah all the weight was you know shut off and i
03:07i could you
03:08know feel again i i felt proud of the things i accomplished it wasn't easy and like in five six
03:16months i was able to you know to remove all the pounds that i had extra that i acquired during
03:22my
03:23health issue and during the times that i was not really taking care of myself they were supposed to
03:29and then after that i started to continue the journey and it's been like more than a year that
03:35i've been this journey like actually almost two years and it became a lifestyle and i think that's
03:40the secret it's really like self-love and go for it do not you know it's not a sacrifice when
03:46you're
03:46doing something for your well-being because sometimes people they have the mindset oh but
03:52you know if i do this i won't be able to eat this i won't be able to do that
03:57i need to quit this i need
03:59to quit that and then my advice is always like listen food you're not supposed to live to eat
04:08you're supposed to eat to live right so you actually it's an addiction also and a lot of us
04:17develop that addiction without even be conscious about it actually what is wrong is not you know
04:23with the food or having or not having it there is something missing you know here or here that's not
04:30going well let me try to compensate through food through certain addictions so when i address what was
04:36wrong within my heart what is you know like going wrong with my the way i was it's actually like
04:42a
04:42mindset my mindset was wrong i was trying to fulfill something lacking my life through food
04:49then i realized oh well i need to fix first myself and then everything else is gonna flow the way
04:54it's
04:54supposed to flow and then i quit a lot of things that i used to love to it because i
04:59love myself for
05:00more you need to love yourself more than any of those things and then when you love yourself and
05:05you're happy what you see and you know you you are in good health and you're mobile and you can
05:12do
05:12and go anywhere you want without limitations without being worried that something can go wrong
05:19that you can develop some kind of sickness oh my gosh that's the best wealth no that's the best
05:25like yeah riches that can ever have is to be in good health so if you come to that realization
05:33that's when your life you really like you're gonna pivot everything around you and everything
05:38when i start to fall in the right place okay that makes a lot of sense um what's your current
05:45weight
05:45now and how many pounds did you use oh in pounds wait i think my current weight now is around
05:53140 pounds
05:55yeah like 140 i i reached like 189 to 90 okay that's around 40 to 50 pounds it's around 50
06:09pounds yeah
06:10yeah like 45 to 50 pounds gone so what was the hardest part in your wellness journey
06:18i think the hardest part was really the change of habits in terms of food choices
06:27of course it's hard to go to the gym you work out but of course you you you don't need
06:31to the first
06:31day to do everything you know you you also start slowly right you gradually you improve and you
06:38you know you add and then you evolve and then you it just like gradually move towards the you know
06:47the exercise but the choices of food is really what make you make you make it or not so i
06:55would go to
06:55the restaurant and things that i would order i need to stop to order those things the things that will
07:00make me happy all right like for instance um um i'll be i love like fried calamari fried mozzarella
07:10so suddenly i remove everything that was fried from my diet so things like that was like the hardest
07:16to adapt to make healthier choices of food and even in the supermarket and then there is one philosophy
07:24that i develop is like if i don't buy it i don't eat it so i started to do a
07:30lot of online grocery
07:32which i still do up to today why because it's not as exciting to shop online as if it is
07:38live
07:39because when you're in the supermarket you see all those things you're tempted to put in your car
07:44but if it's online when my mate gives me a list or i make a list in the house what's
07:49missing that's
07:50the only thing i buy so i don't buy any extra things that i didn't supposed to be buying
07:55so online shopping became like a a constant in my life and help me because then if i don't buy
08:02it
08:03it's not inside my home obviously i won't eat it right so it helps and yeah i think the food
08:12that
08:12that thing to making healthier choices of food was the hardest agree and just listening to you
08:19i think that takes a lot of discipline and a lot of conscious effort to be able to do that
08:26wow yeah it does but then again you know it it goes back bernie to what do you want and
08:33what is it
08:33that you believe that you deserve because at the time when i look at the mirror i said i deserve
08:39a sexy
08:39priscilla i deserve to fit in a 34 a size 2 pants you know i deserve that
08:47that i deserve to take pictures and look at my pictures and be proud what i see because that will
08:54make me happy that you make me confident that you give me a boost and you know and it helped

09:00believe in myself and believe that i can do anything that i dream of so if that's what i deserve
09:08and that's
