The Toyota C-HR+ features several functions that reduce the impact of the climate control system on range without compromising interior comfort.
While fresh, low-humidity air is directed to the upper part of the cabin to prevent the windows from fogging up, pleasantly warm air circulates in the footwells. This dual-layer operation of the climate control system improves heating performance while simultaneously saving energy.
A heat pump, standard on all trim levels, is designed for low power consumption and high efficiency. It uses the heat energy from the outside air to heat the interior, thus reducing power consumption compared to a conventional system. When the other seats are unoccupied, the climate control system's heating output is directed towards the driver in ECO mode. This regulates the airflow and temperature and activates the efficient surface heaters (seat and steering wheel heating). This ensures a comfortable climate while simultaneously reducing energy consumption.
