00:01Franco Bergamino, a 62-year-old Italian dessert chef, is running a dessert shop in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality.
00:09Bergamino Shop, which sells desserts that combine Chinese ingredients and flavors with Italian specialties, attracts lots of young Chinese customers.
00:18Some are a real traditional Italian taste dessert, and some are a little bit fruit fusion, like moliquan.
00:28At the beginning, someone tasted our cake and said, oh my god, too sweet.
00:35Then we understand that it was too sweet for the Chongqing taste, so we study and we try and try
00:45and try again until we find the solution, change the recipe,
00:50cut the sugar, balance the recipe to arrive a correct sweet sweetness taste for the Chongqing people.
01:01Now it's completely different.
01:04We have a lot of customers, young and so young, that they like.
01:10Bergamino ran two dessert shops with a history of 90 years in his hometown of Turin before he came to
01:16China.
01:17When he decided to open a business overseas years ago, Bergamino traveled to different countries around the world and decided
01:24that China was the best choice for him.
01:26I came to China six years ago, in 2016, for my feeling, it's a completely different city.
01:36I never saw one city built on a hill like this, a very tall building on a hill.
01:44When I was in Italy, I had one completely different idea of China.
01:51When I came here, I realized what is the real China.
01:57Bergamino said China is more suitable for his business as it has good tax policies and convenient life.
02:02For future plans, Bergamino hopes to continue to work into his 90s and bring the charm of desserts to more
02:09Chinese customers.
02:10Thank you very much.
