Ex presidente attacca il suo successore: "Non sono stato contento dell'uscita dall'Accordo di Parigi"
Trascrizione
00:00Now, back in the United States, of course, some of our progress stalled when my successor
00:06decided to unilaterally pull out of the Paris Agreement in his first year in office.
00:12I wasn't real happy about that.
00:17And yet, the determination of our state and local governments, along with the regulations
00:26and investment that my administration had already put in place, allowed our country to keep
00:30moving forward, despite hostility from the White House.
00:36The $90 billion investment that we made in 2009 helped to jumpstart the clean energy industry
00:43in the United States, and markets adapted, and so did consumers.
00:47And even when the Trump administration rolled back emissions requirements for automakers,
00:53along with regulatory changes and efficiency standards, many businesses chose to stay
00:59the course.
01:00They kept reducing emissions.
01:03They continued the transition to electric vehicles and energy-saving appliances.
01:08The ball had been rolling, and it didn't stop.
01:14And meanwhile, science and technology continued to advance.
01:18So today, the price of solar and wind energy has dropped to the point where, in some places,
01:23clean energy is cheaper than fossil fuels.
