This luxurious London hotel lives up to its claims of a fully customizable lunch. In this video, Food & Wine travels to Shangri-La The Shard in London, England to experience their wide variety of dining options. From traveling to a market with your chef and choosing your ingredients to enjoying the masterfully cooked meal, Shangri-La offers the best culinary experience no matter the customer.

00:00At this hotel, you can have whatever you want for lunch.
00:02Set between the 34th and 52nd floor of the Shard in London,
00:05the Shangri-La offers unbeatable views from every corner,
00:07but it's the dining options that really grab my attention.
00:09Guests have the option of a fully customizable lunch unlike any other in town,
00:12where you can visit Borough Market with the chef to pick out ingredients
00:14that will be prepared for a sit-down lunch at their lobby restaurant Ting.
00:17Chef and I picked up a handful of options, including langoustine, baby chicken,
00:21morel mushrooms, finger limes, among other ingredients.
00:23After a short break, I headed back to the hotel to see what chef prepared.
00:26The meal consisted of two dishes, the first being ravioli topped with langoustine tartare,
00:30finger lime pulp, samphire seaweed, and a mousse made from the head of the langoustine,
00:33and the second being a baby chicken with a miso and yuzu glaze served with morel mushrooms.
00:37The lunch finished with a trio of desserts, the perfect way to end a meal.
00:40Later in the night, I headed to the 52nd floor to Gong Cocktail Bar for small bites and a drink.
00:44I went with a prawn tempura, truffle salmon roll, and torch red pepper roll,
00:47the later being an absolute standout, and then finished it off with a cocktail of
00:50Maker's Mark and Gangol and Grapefruit Cordial.
00:52If views alone don't bring you back, the food and drink options definitely will.
