00:01:52And there is Sol Ruka.
00:01:55The upstart hopes to win her first major championship here tonight.
00:02:00But in order to do that, she has to knock off the controversial and outspoken current Intercontinental Champion.
00:02:06Becky Lynch looks to bring Sol Ruka to the big time tonight.
00:02:10Rhea Ripley defends her WWE Women's Championship in a WrestleMania rematch against the former champion.
00:02:18Because a storm has come to Italy.
00:02:21Jade Cargill wants her title back tonight.
00:02:25The ruler, Oma Femi, says at WrestleMania, he beat Brock Lesnar.
00:02:31But tonight in Italy, he will kill the Beast.
00:02:35Can Oma make it two in a row against this man, Brock Lesnar?
00:02:39Who puts retirement on hold as he seeks revenge on the man who beat him at WrestleMania.

00:03:54It's the Beast!
00:03:55It seems rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
00:04:02F5 for Brock Lesnar!

00:06:05Ladies and gentlemen, the ring general, the career killer, Gunther,
00:06:10who was revered throughout Europe from his time on the independent scene
00:06:14to his rise in the WWE.
00:06:17His first recorded match in Bern in nearby Switzerland over two decades ago.
00:06:24And tonight, for the first time in his career,
00:06:27battles for the undisputed WWE Championship.
00:06:44Gunther, of course, from Austria, a country bordering Italy,
00:06:48as we welcome you to ringside here tonight, ladies and gentlemen.
00:06:51Michael Cole, Corey Graves.
00:06:53Corey, what an electric atmosphere.
00:06:54You can say that again.
00:06:56I had the pleasure of calling AAA last night in Monterey, Mexico.
00:06:59One of the loudest crowds I've ever experienced.
00:07:01Sounds to me like Italy got the memo.
00:07:03They're going to give Mexico a run for their money.
00:07:04Well, these fans are starved.
00:07:06This is the first ever premium live event in the history of Italy.
00:07:09And if you're watching at home here in Italia,
00:07:12you are watching for the very first time a PLE in Italy live on Netflix.
00:07:18Our Italian commentators joining us here tonight.
00:07:20Luca Franchini and Caliposa.
00:07:22Hi, guys.
00:07:39That was pretty good, Cole.
00:07:40We're gonna get you a Vespa next.
00:07:43We're gonna get you a Vespa next time.
00:08:20We're gonna get you a Vespa next time.
00:08:44We're gonna get you a Vespa next time.
00:08:56We're gonna get you a Vespa next time.
00:09:00We're gonna get you a Vespa next time.
00:09:08Don't follow me until the end, I am a teenager.
00:09:14The world goes down, I'm ready now.
00:09:17Damn this roof up all the town.
00:09:20Gonna give them what they came to see.
00:09:26Hear the crowd, on the top.
00:09:29Letting for me to start the show.
00:09:32Out of time, I'm still on my own.
00:09:39My heart is dead.
00:09:42When I'm younger, I don't believe in me.
00:09:50Took it all away, I give it all away.
00:09:54Took it all away.
00:09:56Didn't change the game, I've never made a place.
00:10:00I've built my kingdom.
00:10:02Now you've built with me.
00:10:06My dreams are not like it.
00:10:08You'll follow me until the end.
00:10:12I am a teenager.
00:10:15You tried to tell me what to do.
00:10:18My son is not against me.
00:10:20I have to cry all my soul.
00:10:25Cody Rhodes versus Gunther is brought to you by Scary Movie.
00:10:29Every line will be crossed.
00:10:31Don't miss it.
00:10:32Only in theaters this Friday.
00:10:34Get your tickets now.
00:10:35And now, let's head up to our ring announcer, the great, Alicia Taylor.
00:10:42The following contest is scheduled for one call.
00:10:47And he's for the undisputed WWE Championship.
00:11:01Introducing the challenger from Vienna, Austria, weighing in her 250 pounds.
00:11:13The United States, the ring general, Gunther.
00:11:22And his opponent, from Atlanta, Georgia, weighing in at 222 pounds.
00:11:33He is the undisputed WWE Champion, the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.
00:11:53Cody Rhodes.
00:11:55QB1, Cody Rhodes of WWE told Corey and I earlier today that he wasn't sure what the atmosphere was gonna
00:12:02be like tonight.
00:12:02Was he walking in to an away game or a home game here tonight?
00:12:06Judging by the response by the crowd here in Italy, this is home territory, home turf for QB1.
00:12:14Italy firmly behind the American Nightmare.
00:12:17For the first time ever, a world championship defended on TV here in Italy.
00:12:27The bell rings and we are underway.
00:12:30This is the second time these two have gone one-on-one in their career.
00:12:34Back in November of 2024, Cody Rhodes defeating Gunther in Saudi Arabia to win the crown jewel championship.
00:12:41Does that come into play tonight?
00:12:43I don't believe it will since the bell has rung.
00:12:46I believe in the lead up to this match, Gunther thought about it, Gunther has obsessed about it.
00:12:50It was a blemish on an otherwise nearly perfect record for the ring general.
00:12:54Gunther wants to avenge that tonight and take Cody's gold in the process.
00:13:05And Cody Rhodes offering a clean break into a somersault.
00:13:10And our official in this championship match is Dan Engler tonight.
00:13:14For Gunther, how do you win the title from Cody Rhodes?
00:13:17Patience.
00:13:18Nobody feeds off of the WWE crowd quite like Cody Rhodes does.
00:13:22If Gunther can wait out the American Nightmare, hope for Cody to make a mistake.
00:13:26Even the tiniest of errors, Gunther can and will capitalize on.
00:13:35In the interview in the countdown show, Gunther admitted that this is a grudge match tonight.
00:13:39Not only the win by Cody at Crown Jewel, but the fact that over two Royal Rumbles,
00:13:43Gunther was eliminated by Cody Rhodes back in 2023 and 2024 as Cody would go on to win that event.
00:13:50Now, if you're Cody Rhodes, how do you beat Gunther tonight?
00:13:53Cody's had a lot on his mind as of late as it comes to his, well, I guess former friend
00:13:57now, Sami Zayn.
00:13:58Oh, what a shot.
00:13:59Well, I believe Cody needs to show Gunther something entirely different.
00:14:03And if Cody has made the mistake of allowing Sami Zayn to creep into his mind tonight, this may be
00:14:08his last night as undisputed WWE Champion.
00:14:11Cody needs to focus on one thing and one thing alone, the ring general.
00:14:15And Cody, drop down, kick to the midsection.
00:14:16And there is that pop-up right hand by Cody Rhodes off the second round.
00:14:22And he ran into a big chop.
00:14:24And that illustrated my point perfectly.
00:14:27I don't know if anyone has as high of an in-ring IQ as Gunther.
00:14:31Gunther studies film.
00:14:33Gunther remembers what he experiences inside of the ropes.
00:14:36He is maybe the most complete athlete in WWE.
00:14:38Yeah, Cody Rhodes in his first title event since winning the championship in WrestleMania.
00:14:44And look at Gunther now, the chop driving the champion to the mat.
00:14:48Cover now by Gunther, kick out by Rhodes.
00:14:50Now, you noticed in the entrance, Cody was wearing that helmet, that mask.
00:14:53The left eye was ripped out.
00:14:55That was to remind everyone of what Randy Orton did to Cody Rhodes after the WrestleMania match up.
00:15:00And the punch to the face, injuring Cody's eye.
00:15:03Something inside of the American Nightmare changed that night.
00:15:06It was forced by Randy Orton, but Cody Rhodes will tell you himself.
00:15:10Something inside snapped, something broke, something changed completely.
00:15:15This is a different American Nightmare than we saw in the lead up to WrestleMania this year.
00:15:18Cody ripped across the ring with authority and the career killer, Gunther,
00:15:21who has ended the careers of Goldberg and AJ Styles and the great John Cena over the past year,
00:15:27looks to take out Rhodes tonight.
00:15:30Cody Rhodes has been very open and he aims to follow in the quote unquote John Cena blueprint here in
00:15:35WWE.
00:15:36I don't think Cody intends to follow the finale of Cena's career.
00:15:42Gunther looking for the sleeper hold, Rhodes able to shrug it off.
00:15:46And Gunther now, and Cody Rhodes knocked down.
00:15:48You know I mentioned earlier, first time in a televised event in Italy that the WWE Championship has been defended.
00:15:55Also tonight, the first time on ESPN, the title's been up for grabs.
00:16:00Well just as Cody Rhodes was able to escape the clutches of the ring general,
00:16:04Gunther connects with a massive boot right to the jaw of the champion.
00:16:12It is appropriate that these two men are the last King of the Ring tournament winners.
00:16:192024, Gunther, Cody Rhodes last year, King of the Ring tournament and the Queen of the Ring tournament,
00:16:25start tomorrow night on Monday Night Raw here live.
00:16:28And Turin, as Gunther delivers a shoulder tackle to Rhodes,
00:16:32as he continues to work on the midsection of the arm of Cody.
00:16:35What you'll never see out of Gunther in the midst of a match is the ring general being shaken.
00:16:39He is calculated, borderline emotionless.
00:16:42Gunther is a professional wrestling machine.
00:16:46You know, they talked about it on the countdown show,
00:16:48the fact that the last time Cody defended a title here in Europe,
00:16:52he lost to Drew McIntyre earlier this year.
00:16:55Cody Rhodes wants to make sure that history does not repeat itself tonight.
00:17:01Gunther staggered for the moment, up and over goes the American Nightmare.
00:17:03And there's the power slam by Cody.
00:17:10This place is rocking.
00:17:18Cody now with a quick jabs to the ring general.
00:17:22Just like that he used to do.
00:17:24The old bionic elbow from Cody to Gunther.
00:17:27Now looking to lock him up.
00:17:30Face first.
00:17:31Pedigree.
00:17:32Off the pedigree by Rhodes.
00:17:34And a kick out by Gunther.
00:17:36And again, Cody Rhodes gonna pull out all the tricks as you mentioned here tonight.
00:17:39Cody understands the task at hand.
00:17:41Cody understands the assignment.
00:17:43He knows full well how lethal Gunther is capable of being.
00:17:53Gunther starved for another world title.
00:17:56He's won two in his career.
00:17:58He's won two in his career.
00:17:59666 days.
00:18:01The record as the Intercontinental Champion.
00:18:03Over 800 days as the NXT UK Champion.
00:18:06Cody gonna roll through.
00:18:07And there's that monster drop kick by Gunther.
00:18:11And now Gunther looking for the power bomb.
00:18:14To put the champion away.
00:18:17Stacks him up for the title.
00:18:19Cody at two gets the shoulder up.
00:18:21And that's what Cody's got to avoid tonight.
00:18:23No doubt about it.
00:18:24And expect Gunther to continue the onslaught.
00:18:27After a thunderous power bomb.
00:18:30Center of the ring.
00:18:31Stack the shoulders.
00:18:32But the nightmare with a little too much left in the tank.
00:18:35Over 12,000 tonight.
00:18:38Sold out.
00:18:38Here in Turin, Italy.
00:18:40Went for the frog splash.
00:18:42Cody got his knees up.
00:18:44And now the champion.
00:18:45Springboard off the second rope.
00:18:47Hitting the disaster kick by Rhodes.
00:18:51And Cody now from behind.
00:18:54Looking for a quick crossroads.
00:18:55To Gunther.
00:18:56Looking to retain.
00:18:57Hook of the leg.
00:18:59Gunther kicks out at two and here fall.
00:19:05Perhaps a bit early in this match to expect to put Gunther away so quickly.
00:19:10Yeah, Cody doesn't appear to be too badly shaken.
00:19:13After landing his bread and butter.
00:19:16And having Gunther kick out.
00:19:19Cody understands there's more work to be done.
00:19:22And Rhodes was fully aware of the work required to get past the ring general.
00:19:26We are so glad that you took the opportunity to join us this afternoon in the States.
00:19:30The late morning on the west coast.
00:19:32On ESPN.
00:19:33And of course internationally on Netflix.
00:19:36WWE Championship kicking off the show tonight.
00:19:38Cody Rhodes.
00:19:39Going to head up to the top rope.
00:19:41Looking for an...
00:19:41He's caught.
00:19:42And he got caught in the sleeper.
00:19:44Gunther caught Rhodes in the sleeper.
00:19:45Great counter by Rhodes.
00:19:47Turned it into a pinning combination.
00:19:48But again into the sleeper for Gunther.
00:19:51And this is what Cody had to avoid.
00:19:54Rhodes is trapped.
00:19:55We saw Cody utilize the reversal moments ago.
00:19:57That was how he defeated Gunther in the King of the Ring final.
00:20:00Ask Styles about this.
00:20:02Ask Cena about this.
00:20:03Gunther now with a sleeper locked in.
00:20:06And the American nightmare looks like he's starting to fade.
00:20:12And Gunther, his full body weight on Cody Rhodes.
00:20:17Cody's got nowhere to go here.
00:20:21Desperate times for the champion.
00:20:27Gunther now wrestling Cody back toward the ring.
00:20:29Cody trying to somehow hang on here.
00:20:30But Gunther's got it locked in.
00:20:32Looks to me like Cody's managed to slip his chin in between the arm of the ring,
00:20:36Jenna, which may be the only reason Rhodes is conscious at this point.
00:20:39But Gunther now just continuing to squeeze.
00:20:41This is agonizing on your jaw if you're Cody Rhodes.
00:20:44Cody now back to a vertical base with Gunther on his back.
00:20:48Rhodes now.
00:20:49That will create space for Cody Rhodes.
00:20:52But no, Gunther right back up into the sleeper.
00:20:54The relentless attack by Gunther.
00:20:57Now the well placed elbow to the champion.
00:21:00And Gunther again has it locked in.
00:21:02Cody may be out.
00:21:03Cody's in the middle of the ring.
00:21:05Gunther's got his legs and arms wrapped around the champion.
00:21:08That boa constrictor like grip of the ring general.
00:21:11And Cody could be fading.
00:21:15And what a nightmare this would be for Rhodes.
00:21:22Rhodes gasping for air.
00:21:25Opening his eyes, perhaps one last gasp.
00:21:32But perhaps not.
00:21:36The WWE fans trying to.
00:21:40Will Cody on.
00:21:41Cody got his foot on the bottom rope.
00:21:44And that will force a break.
00:21:48Much to the chagrin of the ring general.
00:21:55That's gotta be so frustrating, Corey, for that man.
00:21:58I'm sure to an extent it is frustrating for Gunther.
00:22:02But Gunther has also spent the majority of his time in this matchup delivering offense.
00:22:07Yes, that will exhaust you.
00:22:09But Gunther still seems to have plenty left in the tank.
00:22:11Whereas Cody Rhodes seems to be running on empty.
00:22:18And I wonder what's going through the mind of Gunther as Cody tries to recover.
00:22:23I think Gunther's simply surveying the situation right now.
00:22:26He approaches all of his offense with surgical precision.
00:22:29Gunther trying to solve the American nightmare.
00:22:32Just taking a moment to look at the big picture.
00:22:35The man who spent weeks jockeying before signing this contract.
00:22:38In fact, had to beat Royce Keys to earn this opportunity here tonight against Cody Rhodes.
00:22:43Was all that contract jockeying worth it?
00:22:47I'll give you an answer when this matchup is over, but I understand why Gunther did it.
00:22:51It was psychological warfare.
00:22:53Trying to make the champion wait.
00:22:55Gunther declaring to Cody Rhodes, I'm worth waiting for because when I get there,
00:22:58I'm taking what's yours.
00:23:00And the chops just seen him.
00:23:02The fire Cody uphill.
00:23:04A clothesline almost knocked his head off.
00:23:07And Cody with a clothesline of his own.
00:23:10Both men still on their feet.
00:23:14Rhodes trying to chop down the ring general.
00:23:17What a clothesline.
00:23:18Turns the champ inside out.
00:23:20And Gunther says that's it.
00:23:22Says he's closing in.
00:23:23Cody Rhodes ducks underneath.
00:23:25Went for the Cody cutter.
00:23:27And again, look for the sleeper side headlock.
00:23:28Cody with a sleeper on his own.
00:23:30Sleeper locked in now by Cody.
00:23:31Gunther able to create space.
00:23:33Cody cutter.
00:23:37Cody back to his feet.
00:23:40And a clothesline by the champion knocks Gunther down.
00:23:44And Gunther not used to being on the receiving end of those clotheslines.
00:23:50Rhodes has been able to tap in what took him to the top of the box.
00:23:53Crossroads again.
00:23:55Crossroads again by Cody.
00:23:57Here's the cover.
00:23:58Hook to the leg.
00:24:00And he got it.
00:24:01Cody Rhodes got it.
00:24:03Cody Rhodes retains the title.
00:24:05The winner is still the undisputed WWE Champion,
00:24:13The American Nightmare, Goodie Rhodes.
00:24:20Well, the win belongs to the American Nightmare, but
00:24:23Goodie immediately began protesting.
00:24:27I'd love to get another look, perhaps a different angle.
00:24:32Jeffrey Dan Engler was right there to make the call.
00:24:35Something obviously happened at the end of that matchup,
00:24:37because Gunther was extremely upset.
00:24:42Let's take a look at the closing moments of this one.
00:24:45Gunther tried on multiple occasions to avoid it.
00:24:48But Rhodes delivering the Cody cutter,
00:24:52which was the prelude to the crossroads.
00:24:55And this is what I want to get a look at.
00:24:57Pay attention to the ring positioning of the ring general.
00:25:01Rhodes with the crossroads.
00:25:03Well, this is the angle we just saw, Corey.
00:25:08I can't tell decisively, but it looks like at the beginning of the count.
00:25:11Here's the other angle.
00:25:13Gunther's foot may have been under the bottom rope.
00:25:17Let's see if we can see it here.
00:25:18And it clearly, clearly his foot was under the bottom rope,
00:25:21which means the official never should have started counting.
00:25:24You're right.
00:25:24And Dan Engler, his call is gonna stand.
00:25:27He's got the authority.
00:25:28But I personally don't believe Engler should have even began the count.
00:25:32I have to imagine that's Gunther's argument as well.
00:25:35Well, that is the rule.
00:25:36If your foot's underneath the bottom rope, you cannot begin the count.
00:25:41But nonetheless, the referee's decision's final.
00:25:44Cody Rhodes is gonna leave here tonight as the undisputed WWE Champion,
00:25:49despite the protest from the ring general.
00:25:56A hell of a match.
00:25:57No doubt about it.
00:25:59What a way to kick off clash in Italy.
00:26:06Well, ladies and gentlemen, Monday Night Raw will be live in Turin tomorrow on Netflix.
00:26:12The Raw superstars are here, including L.A. Night.

00:26:49On the right, Jade Cargill, a WrestleMania rematch, live next.
00:27:00It's terrifying what happens when car warranties expire.
00:27:04As soon as they do, cars are quitting on the job.
00:27:08It's like they're possessed.
00:27:09Whoa, stop, stop, stop.
00:27:11Hey, man, you got a little something there.
00:27:14And without protection, even simple repairs could cost you thousands.
00:27:18That's why there's CarShield.
00:27:20Or don't get CarShield and maybe get your car an exorcism instead.
00:27:26Someone should help her.
00:27:27CarShield, protection when it counts.

00:29:55It's a new事, it's a new moment.

00:32:19And the match that will kick off things at the top of the hour on the ESPN app with the
00:32:24unlimited plan.
00:32:25The ruler, Oba Femi, in a WrestleMania rematch where he beat Brock Lesnar.
00:32:31But tonight, Femi says he's going to kill the beast.
00:32:36Coming up next, ladies and gentlemen, a WrestleMania rematch as well.
00:32:40Rhea Ripley back in Las Vegas, knocked off Jade Cargill to win the WWE Women's Championship.
00:32:47These two clash live next at Clash in Italy.
00:32:54The eradicator, Rhea Ripley, looking for a fourth world championship in a match against the WWE champion, the Storm, Jade
00:33:05Cargill.
00:33:12Rhea Ripley, looking for a fourth world championship in a match against the WWE champion, the Storm, Jade Cargill.
00:33:32Rhea Ripley, looking for a third world championship, the Storm, Jade Cargill.
00:33:36RIP-TIME, RIP-TIME.
00:33:40Reawage the WWE title.
00:33:44Welcome to Friday Night Mommy.
00:33:50I'll be the champion, I'll be the champion.
00:33:52The SmackDown.
00:33:56Pressure Buzz Pipe.
00:34:01Oh, hold up! Shane Carville is here!
00:34:05Let's meet you to FIFA!
00:34:07Rhea Ripley found that out!
00:34:09Big cupcake!
00:34:11And that clash in Italy, I bust champions too!
00:34:16I'm never gonna run!
00:34:17Every single week you come out here trying to throw around more dominance.
00:34:23The detail that you continue to forget is that when it's just you and me,
00:34:29I am going to fight!
00:34:33I am Jay Cargill, I am one of one!
00:34:38Cargill has pinned the WWE Champion!
00:34:41When the match is done, you will be looking up at your true champion.
00:35:01A storm is coming.
00:35:09.
00:35:28Corey, I want to start things off by asking you if Jake Cargill has the psychological advantage heading into this
00:35:35matchup tonight.
00:35:36Corey, I want to start things off by asking you if Jake Cargill has the psychological advantage headed into this
00:35:36match-up tonight.
00:35:36because in a 24-hour period just last weekend, Friday night SmackDown and
00:35:41then Saturday night's main event, Cargill was able to deliver Jaden not once but
00:35:46twice to Rhea Ripley and also pinned the champion in a tag team matchup.
00:35:50To answer your question, absolutely yes, I do think Jade Cargill has
00:35:55a psychological advantage, not to mention the confidence possessed by this woman.
00:36:01I caught up with Jade earlier today and I asked her, what went wrong at WrestleMania?
00:36:05And how do you stop it from happening again tonight?
00:36:08Jade looked me dead in the eye, she said, Rhea Ripley didn't beat me at WrestleMania.
00:36:12I beat myself, I got caught up in the pomp, the circumstance, and
00:36:16the bright lights of the biggest stage, that doesn't happen tonight.
00:36:20Jade says she hits Jaded tonight and leaves Italy with the gold.
00:36:25Interesting comments from the former champion.
00:36:33And even in defeat, I think most of the world would agree.
00:36:36Jade Cargill put on a career-defining performance at WrestleMania,
00:36:39even though she came up short.
00:36:41If Cargill can shift her focus tonight, make a few small adjustments,
00:36:44we may not have a new champion tonight.
00:37:00This right here is what Cargill needs to be careful of.
00:37:04Dealing with the WWE fans, we've seen on numerous occasions Jade take her eye off
00:37:09with the proverbial ball and pay for it.
00:37:13This is my brutality!
00:37:27I eat, sleep, bleed, like demons in your dreams, I eat, sleep, bleed.
00:37:34I eat, sleep, I eat, sleep, I eat.
00:37:42I eat, sleep, I eat.
00:37:45I eat, sleep, I eat.
00:37:46I eat, sleep, I eat, sleep, I eat.
00:37:47For the first time in her career, Rhea Ripley,
00:37:50in a match-up here in Italy, a country that she holds near and dear to her heart.
00:37:57Her grandpa and her grandma, who she was extremely close with,
00:38:01Grew up here in Northern Italy, Delicio and Di Quetta.
00:38:05And then they would move to Australia, of course, where Rhea Ripley was born and
00:38:09would go on to start her wrestling career.
00:38:12Rhea said very emotional for her to be a part of this here tonight.
00:38:16Well, it served Rhea well to keep those emotions in check tonight.
00:38:20Unless she chooses to channel them toward her opponent, Jay Cargill.
00:38:24Yes, we've seen, history has proven, Rhea Ripley is almost impossible to bet
00:38:30against when the stakes are as high as they are tonight.
00:38:33But Jade Cargill is waiting.
00:38:35She is waiting for the moment to strike, to upset Rhea Ripley and
00:38:41to turn the women's division upside down once again.
00:38:43Rhea Ripley, of course, Pete Jade at WrestleMania with her first title defense
00:38:49since that night in Las Vegas.
00:38:52Cargill is on our wall.
00:38:54We mentioned the win over Ripley in the tag match last week.
00:38:57Friday night on SmackDown, Jade knocked off Alexa Bliss and
00:39:01then delivered a Jaded to Bliss to a steel chair.
00:39:05That was a statement making absolutely sure that Jade has all of Rhea's attention.
00:39:29Let's check in with Alicia Taylor.
00:39:33The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
00:39:37And it is for the WWE Women's Championship.
00:39:47Introducing first the challenger from Vero Beach, Florida,
00:39:55Jade Cargill.
00:40:03And her opponent from Adelaide, South Australia.
00:40:12She is the WWE Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley.
00:40:26So let's talk about strategy in this matchup.
00:40:29First, for a very confident champion in Rhea Ripley.
00:40:33I think Rhea Ripley needs to be very careful that she doesn't overlook or
00:40:37underestimate Jade Cargill.
00:40:39Yes, Rhea was successful on the grandest stage of them all at WrestleMania.
00:40:43But Jade Cargill has obsessed about that night since it took place.
00:40:47Jade was, to an extent, humiliated on the grandest stage of them all.
00:40:52This is Jade's opportunity to right the perceived wrong tonight in Italy.
00:40:56Corey, if you're Jade Cargill, how do you, quote, right that perceived wrong tonight?
00:41:00Deliver the heavy artillery early and often.
00:41:03This could come down to the Riptide versus Jaded.
00:41:07Which of these two women can land their finishing maneuver first?
00:41:18And a collar and elbow tie-up to start things off in this matchup for
00:41:22the WWE Women's Championship.
00:41:25Remember, this is still somewhat unfamiliar territory for Rhea Ripley,
00:41:29not having the power advantage.
00:41:31Rhea has always had the strength advantage, usually the size advantage over most of
00:41:35her opponents.
00:41:36That's not the case with the bigger, stronger Jade Cargill.
00:41:45Well, let's go, mommy chants for the over 12,000 here tonight in Italy.
00:41:48It's taken down by Rhea Ripley, and they're still in the collar and elbow tie-up.
00:41:54You know, Ripley did find a way to offset the power advantage of Jade at WrestleMania.
00:42:00And Rhea does have an abundance of tools at her disposal.
00:42:04Rhea, when need be, can take a high risk.
00:42:07She can push the pace of a matchup.
00:42:09That may give her the edge she needs to get past Cargill tonight.
00:42:12And there again, the power of Cargill as she slams Ripley in the middle of the ring.
00:42:18And now a bit of a...
00:42:19And this is what I can't agree with this.
00:42:22I understand this is Jade's prerogative, this is who Jade Cargill is, but
00:42:25she's dealing with Rhea bloody Ripley.
00:42:28Don't get too comfortable.
00:42:30Yeah, she just paid for it.
00:42:32Ripley begging Cargill back to her feet, sends Jade outside the ring.
00:42:35Rhea looks to pick up the pace.
00:42:37There's that drop kick.
00:42:42Rhea feeding off this crowd.
00:42:45Went for the cannonball, Jade able to intercept and then deliver a right hand.
00:42:49Jade just stuffed out a suicide dive attempt by Rhea Ripley.
00:42:55That was incredible.
00:42:56And now with Ripley up on her shoulders and driving her into the apron.
00:43:01Man, it is so hard to combat power.
00:43:09And again, a knee right on the jaw.
00:43:13That certainly rocked Rhea's world.
00:43:18Cargill's in love with herself, isn't she?
00:43:20That certainly seems to be the case.
00:43:22It's worked out fairly well for her so far.
00:43:25Into the ring to break the count.
00:43:27Cargill understands that count outs and disqualifications don't help her.
00:43:31She must pin or submit the champion.
00:43:33And that's something of a skill in and of itself.
00:43:35The ability to completely disregard and tune out the WWE universe.
00:43:39That's what Cargill...
00:43:40If anything, Cargill panders to their disdain, to their boos, and feeds off of them almost
00:43:46in reverse of how Rhea does.
00:43:47Fall away slam to the champion.
00:43:50And Cargill now controlling Ripley.
00:43:57I like the pace of Cargill tonight, taking her time.
00:44:00Much more deliberate than we're used to seeing.
00:44:03It's a smart strategy.
00:44:03Because again, as much as Jay Cargill may not personally like Rhea Ripley, Jay does
00:44:08have a modicum of respect for the abilities of Rhea Ripley inside the ring.
00:44:12You have no choice when you're defeated on the grandest stage of them all by someone.
00:44:17And again, the fans here in Italy trying to will Rhea Ripley on.
00:44:25And Jay talking trash.
00:44:32And again, to your point earlier, it's not often that we see Ripley woman-handled like
00:44:37she's been here tonight.
00:44:39It is an unfamiliar sight, and now Cargill just stomping away.
00:44:43Using the long legs to her advantage.
00:44:50Complete disdain for the official.
00:44:57Notice how deliberate in all of her movements Jay Cargill has been to this juncture.
00:45:01No wasted motion, no wasted effort.
00:45:04Everything counts.
00:45:05And Ripley into the corner with authority.
00:45:08What a whip by Jay.
00:45:11And again, just showing off here tonight.
00:45:13Why not?
00:45:14She's dominating the champion.
00:45:22Ripley in serious pain here.
00:45:24You saw her favoring her lower back.
00:45:29It would serve Jay Cargill well to continue focusing on that area.
00:45:33Cover.
00:45:34Snap, snap, suplex into the cover and a kick out by Rhea.
00:45:41I like this pace of Cargill tonight.
00:45:44It's very smart, it's very deliberate, it's very methodical.
00:45:47But it leaves minimal room for Jade Cargill to make mistakes.
00:45:52Sometimes when you get in the ring, you get rocking and rolling, you get ahead of yourself.
00:45:56You make unforced errors.
00:45:57And that's what Cargill had to avoid tonight, and she's done so thus far.
00:46:01And Ripley showing some fight.
00:46:03Big uppercut by Cargill.
00:46:05Drops the champion again, and been a one-sided affair here in the early going.
00:46:10I'm honestly a little surprised at how one-sided it's been.
00:46:12And Rhea Ripley has been essentially ineffective to this point.
00:46:17And Rhea with a kick.
00:46:19And now a chop, trying to fight back into this.
00:46:22Another chop by the champion, driving Cargill back toward the corner.
00:46:27Cargill reversal and again sends Ripley back first into the turnbuckle.
00:46:35Jage is continuing to impose her will.
00:46:38Every rally that Ripley has had, Corey, has been snuffed out by Cargill.
00:46:44Decisively as well.
00:46:46Now another suplex delivered.
00:46:48Floats into the cover.
00:46:50And an air fall again, and a kick out at two by the champion.
00:46:53And again, perhaps an example of where Jade Cargill is making mistakes.
00:46:57She didn't hook the leg.
00:46:58It was a bit of an arrogant cover.
00:47:00You're not gonna beat Rhea Ripley like that.
00:47:02I don't care who you are.
00:47:06This is for the WWE Women's Championship, currently held by Rhea Ripley.
00:47:16Of course, defending a Friday night smackdown as Ripley delivers body shots and
00:47:21then just ripped to the floor by Cargill.
00:47:29Man, this has been alarmingly one-sided so far.
00:47:33It's been pure dominance.
00:47:40And again, Rhea showing signs of fight.
00:47:43Cargill with a right hand, stuns Ripley, and again, the power of Jade.
00:47:47And that can be super frustrating.
00:47:48Nobody home.
00:47:49If you're Rhea Ripley, you're firing off the best shots you can muster.
00:47:53And they're having little to no effect on the challenger, Jade Cargill.
00:47:56Cargill missed with the attempted elbow.
00:47:58And that may be a mistake because Cargill went shoulder first to the post.
00:48:01And now the champion has an opportunity to rally.
00:48:10Ripley with a couple of close close lines.
00:48:15Kick caught Jade right under the chin.
00:48:19Face first goes Cargill.
00:48:22Missile drop kick to the back of the neck.
00:48:29And Rhea beginning to rally.
00:48:34Rhea Ripley, waist lock into the German suplex.
00:48:42Ripley giving chase to the outside.
00:48:45And now Rhea connects, and Ripley starting to feel it.
00:48:57And Rhea now, climbing up top.
00:49:03Missile drop kick.
00:49:06Pulls to the cover.
00:49:07Hooks the inside leg, near fall.
00:49:13Well, it seems to me as though Rhea finally realizing she's got to show the challenger
00:49:19something new, taking it high risk.
00:49:21Picture perfect missile drop kick from the top turnbuckle, but not enough to put away the storm.
00:49:29Now it's Rhea who cannot become frustrated.
00:49:32You saw her once again favoring the lower back.
00:49:41Does Rhea have enough left in the tank to muscle up Cargill?
00:49:45Yes, she does.
00:49:46Oh, no, she doesn't.
00:49:48Jade Cargill turns into a back body drop.
00:49:50And again, psychologically, that can destroy a competitor like Ripley.
00:49:55Kick both women down.
00:49:56Rhea was going for Razor's Edge, and Cargill was able to counter.
00:50:00But then a well-placed kick by Ripley.
00:50:02And this right here could be a turning point in this match.
00:50:21This is, in fact, awesome.
00:50:27Champion and challenger face to face.
00:50:39There we go.
00:50:40Both women unloading the heavy artillery in the center of the ring.
00:50:53And Rhea Ripley looking again in the upper hand.
00:50:56Jade went for that pop kick.
00:50:57Here it comes.
00:50:58And Jade now looking for jaded.
00:51:00Rhea Ripley able to duck underneath.
00:51:01Went for a drop kick.
00:51:02Side step by Jade.
00:51:04Jade went for the running knee.
00:51:05Head butt by Ripley.
00:51:07I think Jade might be out on her feet.
00:51:09And Rhea now in position for riptide.
00:51:12But Jade fights out of it.
00:51:13Credit to Cargill, who clearly did her homework.
00:51:16She's had multiple counters ready for just about everything Rhea has attempted tonight.
00:51:21Yeah, Ripley, though, delivered a kick again.
00:51:23And now has Cargill where she wants her.
00:51:24So this time, will it work out in Rhea's favor?
00:51:26He'll get bad back.
00:51:28And a modified razor's edge delivered that time to Cargill.
00:51:32And a shining wizard by Ripley.
00:51:35Cover now.
00:51:35Hook to the leg.
00:51:36Kick out by Cargill at two.
00:51:38And you gotta wonder if the bad back didn't allow Ripley to hit all of that razor's edge.
00:51:42Certainly not with maximum impact, which may be the only reason Cargill is still in this matchup.
00:51:50Rhea Ripley feeling the effects of this battle.
00:51:53The physical exhaustion on the face of Ripley and Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship.
00:52:08Cargill back to her feet.
00:52:09Ripley as well.
00:52:10Rhea now.
00:52:11Oh, wow.
00:52:12Electric chair position.
00:52:14Jade, though, trying to hang on to the top rope here.
00:52:17And fight her way out of this.
00:52:19Uh-oh, Jade trying to pull Rhea over the top.
00:52:21And, oh, no.
00:52:23And Rhea hit hard.
00:52:24The lower back.
00:52:25The lower back hit really hard in the apron.
00:52:27Ripley, Rhea Ripley doesn't allow to affect her.
00:52:29Face first goes Cargill.
00:52:31How the hell is Ripley standing?
00:52:33I have absolutely no earthly idea.
00:52:36Cover by Ripley to retain.
00:52:39Kick out.
00:52:41Well, I'm certain Cargill asking herself the same question.
00:52:45How is Rhea still in this fight?
00:52:48Did you see our lower back hit the apron as she came over the top?
00:52:52I thought that was it for Ripley.
00:52:55That makes two of us.
00:52:56But Ripley able to fight through the pain.
00:52:59Feeding off the live crowd in Italy.
00:53:02Feeding off the adrenaline.
00:53:04And the will to defend her WWE Women's Championship.
00:53:08Rhea could be looking for Riptide.
00:53:11Here we go.
00:53:13And now Jade Cargill though able to counter.
00:53:16And Jade now looking for Jade and Rhea.
00:53:17Ripley able to slip underneath.
00:53:20Ripley now again in the Riptide position.
00:53:23Cargill turns it into a DDT.
00:53:25What a counter by the number one contender.
00:53:28You don't have to like her, but damn it, put some respect on Cargill's name.
00:53:33And here's the cover by Cargill.
00:53:35We are watching the maturation process of Jade Cargill in real time tonight.
00:53:41We are seeing before our very eyes,
00:53:44Jade Cargill become who she has told us she's been since she arrived.
00:53:49Yeah, the critics be damned.
00:53:50Cargill could be closing in on the WWE Championship.
00:53:55Jade now with Rhea up.
00:53:56Rhea though lands on her feet.
00:53:58Did the back give out?
00:53:59Cargill into the corner.
00:54:00Nobody home.
00:54:02Ripley now misses wildly.
00:54:04Jade Cargill.
00:54:05That set out powerbomb for the win.
00:54:07Ripley's got a kick and two again.
00:54:09Another near fall.
00:54:11And his frustration starting to set in.
00:54:13It definitely is.
00:54:14And that's exactly what Cargill needs to avoid after a blue thunder bomb.
00:54:18Failed to put Ripley away.
00:54:21Jade needs to figure out how to keep her foot on the gas pedal.
00:54:24She is this close to the finish line.
00:54:28An incredible atmosphere here tonight in Italy.
00:54:32Sold out crowd and out the arena.
00:54:35Jade Cargill could be closing in on her second reign as WWE Women's Champion.
00:54:43Jade to the top rope.
00:54:45Rhea Ripley meets her there with a chop.
00:54:47Questionable decision by the challenger Cargill.
00:54:51Jade has stayed well within herself, Corey, up to that point.
00:54:58Rhea gonna meet her there.
00:55:01Cargill trying to find her footing.
00:55:03This could backfire in spectacular fashion for the challenger.
00:55:09Although Jade now hooking Ripley, top rope, superplex.
00:55:15Rhea Ripley trying to capitalize, crawling toward a cover, hook of the leg.
00:55:22Another near fall for the champion.
00:55:25And now Rhea has to wonder, what the hell do I have to do?
00:55:28Ripley's beside herself right now, Cole.
00:55:33I think reality is finally sinking into Rhea Ripley.
00:55:37This isn't the same Jade Cargill I've beat at WrestleMania.
00:55:40Oh, no.
00:55:40What's your problem?
00:55:41B-Fab and Meechan marching to the ring.
00:55:45And you had to wonder where Jade Cargill's backup was and when they were gonna show up tonight.
00:55:50Oh, Rhea.
00:55:50And Ripley now out.
00:55:52Pop kept by Cargill.
00:55:54Rhea should have expected this.
00:55:56And off the distraction, Rhea turns it into a stop to the midsection.
00:56:01Ripley now looking for Riptide.
00:56:05This could do it.
00:56:07Riptide connects.
00:56:09Cover on Cargill.
00:56:12And Meechan able to grab the leg of Cargill and place it on the bottom rope.
00:56:19I think that's gonna cost B-Fab as well it should.
00:56:23She got caught red-handed.
00:56:28Our official understands the magnitude of the situation, the importance of the championship.
00:56:33There was B-Fab who put Ripley's leg, I should say Jade's leg on the bottom rope,
00:56:38allowing this matchup to continue.
00:56:42Now's not the time, Rhea.
00:56:50Hey, the queen, Charlotte Flair is here.
00:56:55And Jade's got a score to settle after Jade put her partner and friend Alexa Bliss
00:57:02through a chair Friday night.
00:57:04And another pump kick in the ring from Cargill.
00:57:06Jade's gonna steal this thing.
00:57:08Here it comes.
00:57:09Looking for Jade in.
00:57:11Cover by Cargill.
00:57:14And turn him out as fair play.
00:57:16This time, Charlotte saving Rhea's title reign.
00:57:29Two paths that seem to cross inevitably.
00:57:35Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair.
00:57:38Cargill muscling up Ripley.
00:57:40Ripley now with a headbutt.
00:57:42Hooking Cargill.
00:57:45Riptide.
00:57:47Stacks are up.
00:57:48Ripley retains.
00:57:53Here is your winner, and still, the WWE Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley.
00:58:06Well, Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair, Corey, found a common enemy,
00:58:11and were able to put their animosities aside tonight.
00:58:17Well, ladies and gentlemen, still to come over on the ESPN app with the unlimited plan.
00:58:21Tribal Combat, Roman and Jacob, Oma Lesnar, Becky Saul Ruka, live on the ESPN app.
00:58:29This August.
00:58:33From the home of the Minnesota Vikings.
00:58:39Two epic nights of WWE Summer Slam.
00:58:42Welcome, everyone, to the biggest event of the summer.
00:58:54Summer Slam, Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd.
00:59:01One moment, I felt a power like I've never felt before.
00:59:05A lightning bolt hit me.
00:59:06Had a great promo on a scale of 1 to 10.
00:59:08Hulk Hogan was a 10.
00:59:10If your Richter scale spins around three and four times, it's not an earthquake.
00:59:14It's just me pressing that big Elijah over my head in the sundown.
00:59:18Hulk Hogan would talk for 59 seconds exactly, and I was like, cut.
00:59:23That's a take.
00:59:24I don't like to overthink things.
00:59:25There's nothing to think about either.
00:59:27You either can dance and play the guitar and play the fiddle, or you can't.
00:59:44You either.
