00:25features an eclectic blend of vibrant songs and phenomenal musicians.
00:30You can't really see or guess what an audience wants.

00:34We wanted to hear musicians and music that is very much our own taste.
00:38And we're lucky that we had a lot of artists that liked the first movie,
00:42were very willing and wanted to do something for this movie.
00:46The song's just kind of kick in and just, you know,
00:50launch the movie into this high-energy love fest.
00:54The county crows came in and popped the song.
00:56The song's called Accidentally In Love.
00:59It really fits the movie because it's essentially a story of two people who fall in love
01:04who weren't necessarily supposed to fall in love.
01:07You were accidentally in love, but you were still in love.
01:11And you were in love.
01:13I've never worked on a movie that was easier to find people
01:16that wanted to be a part of it.
01:18Everybody we approached wanted to be a part of it.
01:21The first music that came to the film was really the stuff from the directors
01:26who wanted to lay it in the scenes that they felt were helping,
01:29but they all the scenes were going to be a funky town,
01:31whatever I'm saying, or David Bowie's Changes.
01:34The song that I was asked to contribute to or share to is a song of my little change.
01:42It's an Australian one of my version.
01:45It did a non-flowered version of my song.
01:48And I love it.
01:49I thought it would be too many of you.

03:01And I had just gotten off a plane from Japan
03:06And I was very jet lagged
03:07And I felt like we had this thing in common
03:09So it was very easy for me to write a song about
03:12A giant cattle and sheep
03:15But there's one I always miss
03:18It's half for Shrek and it's half for the first point of the record
03:22And Pete, you're on cover of the Buzzcocks classic
03:25Ever Fallen in Love
03:26It's another example where we had the original Buzzcocks song in there
03:30And that's a good one to cover
03:31I hate when you hear a cover and it's exactly the original version
03:34So we're changing the whole thing a little bit
03:37The original version is very distinctly British sounding vocal
03:41So I'm going to go the other way and try and make it sound kind of really American
03:49The Shrek movies are quite special in a way
03:53There are quite a few songs
03:55And the score has to operate on various different levels
03:58Which is fun
03:59After one's coming out of a, I don't know, Neil's song
04:03Into a very romantic scene perhaps between Shrek and Fiona
04:06Or a fight scene with Eddie Murphy and the donkey
04:10So the score is really the clue that this is to keep the story together
