00:00Agora, Gregor Yeats rejoins
00:02e Ron Trenker takes over from John Lancaster
00:04e heads out on track as well.
00:06That was a rather quirky way of approaching
00:08the chicane, though, wasn't it?
00:09A car off there, way off the racetrack.
00:12You can just about see the roofline.
00:14And that is...
00:16Where?
00:18Pitstraight?
00:18I couldn't tell.
00:19Was that the 50 car?
00:21Ascari, that is.
00:25So, the yellow flag is at Ascari.
00:29And another one, in fact, at the Parabolica.
00:30So, we've got incidents around the circuit.
00:33We'll try and unravel exactly who and where.
00:36And we're going safety car by the look of it
00:37because there are the boards and flags.
00:39So, safety car deployed in McLaren Trophy Europe.
00:45Yeah, David, does that look like the Coelho car,
00:46potentially, the number 50?
00:48You are absolutely spot on.
00:49There you go.
00:51So, that's down at the Ascari chicane.
00:54David Coelho is at the exit of Ascari.
00:59We understand there's another incident at the Parabolica,
01:01which is the last corner on the lap.
01:02We'll come to that in due course.
01:04There's the safety car making its way out onto the circuit.
01:09So, the field then coming through next time around
01:16under safety car conditions.
01:18Yellow lights on the gantry to tell you to everybody
01:20that the safety car is on track.
01:23And that will pick up the race leader,
01:26which, of course, is going to be a different order
01:28now that we've had the pit stops all cycle through.
01:32So, there is the driver out of the car.
01:37That's at the Parabolica, I think.
01:39And it looks as though it's the Will Martin car
01:41that we've lost there.
01:43So, big, big cheer from the crowd
01:44as he gets himself out of the car.
01:46But you can see how far through the Recticel barriers he's gone.
01:48So, Will Martin out of the car and out of the race.
01:52But the good news is that he's walked away.
01:54But how he's got that far off the road,
01:56we'll try to get to the bottom of.
01:58But that was clearly, Tommy, quite a moment.
02:00High-speed corner.
02:00Yeah, good to see that.
02:02And that looked the identical place
02:04where that GT car went on the practice
02:07before our qualifying session,
02:08exactly the same position.
02:10So, it makes you think that he may have had
02:12some kind of braking issue, maybe, and went straight.
02:15But I've got to say, those TAC Pro barriers
02:17really do a fantastic job.
02:19Because the speeds in the Parabolica are absolutely,
02:21you know, they're coming up to 240, 250 clicks approaching.
02:26And, yeah, when they go off straight
02:28because of brake issues or stuck throttle or anything like that,
02:31it's frightening to see the speed of the cars coming into the barriers.
02:34So, a big shout-out there to Monza
02:36and using these TAC Pro barriers, they're doing their job.
02:40So, big, big frustration for Will Martin.
02:42There he is.
02:43He's OK.
02:43But out of the race, he'll be composing his thoughts
02:46after that scary moment.
02:47Medical car there to take him to the med centre,
02:50which is what's going to happen in any incident, large or small.
02:52This is David Coelho taking over from Matt Higgins.
02:56That all self-induced, didn't it?
02:58Yeah, pretty straightforward, that one.
02:59And, unfortunately, he's just got in the car,
03:02so, obviously, perhaps not quite warmed up
03:05or in tune with what's going on.
03:07And a little bit of a welly there.
03:08Too much power on the rear end, and off she goes.
03:11Just caught the end, didn't we,
03:12with the Will Martin incident as well there.
03:14He clearly had an issue.
03:16But, yeah, I mean, Will has been runner-up in Carrera Cup GB,
03:20third in the North American Championship.
03:21He's not somebody that would arrive at a corner
03:23at a ludicrous speed and not be able to turn the card.
03:25That does suggest some failure of some sort
03:28that's pitched him off the road.
03:30And your point about the rectusail barriers is well made,
03:33because although Monza has these big gravel traps, of course,
03:36at some of the speeds, you know,
03:37you're sort of skittling over the top of them, aren't you?
03:39They're not really slowing the progress of the car.
03:41That's it, exactly that.
03:42And so you can see now the several sort of different types of layers
03:46that you have between the tyres
03:48and the actual, the first, effectively,
03:50the first barrier that the car comes in touch with.
03:52There's those red blocks in between,
03:55and all of that is just, you know, absorbs the impact,
03:59and especially high-speed impact.
04:00So we're doing a great job.
04:02Red flag there, obviously, as we thought we might do
04:04because of the seriousness of the out at Parabolica.
04:09I think it's more the fact
04:10that it's going to take so long to move the car.
04:12There's...
