Taipei has installed its second negative-pressure smoking booth as part of efforts to reduce public smoking. The new booth, located near the Shuanglian MRT station, is designed to prevent secondhand smoke from affecting nearby residents. It follows the city’s first outdoor smoking booth in Ximending, which will go smoke-free starting Monday. Violators of the new restrictions may face fines of up to US$300.
