00:00Why do you believe Gen Z has a different work ethic
00:03to someone like you or me at my age, possibly?
00:08Yeah, I think that, look, I was only born in 1996.
00:11I'm not that far away from Gen Z,
00:14but I think that at the age of 12, 13, 14,
00:18I was encouraged to have several jobs.
00:20And I think now social media and influencer culture
00:23have normalised this idea of overnight success.
00:26And I think ultimately, young people are now focusing
00:29on the end results as opposed to the process.
00:33Yeah, no, I hear you.
00:35I was born a little bit before you,
00:37but I think that's what our generation thinks.
00:39But Hannah, what do you make of that?
00:41Are younger people just less disciplined now?
00:44Do they not want to go to their Saturday job
00:46and their pub job to get a bit of cash?
00:48Hi, thanks for having me on.
00:50So I don't think it's necessarily anything to do
00:52with the fact that they don't want to do it
00:54or that they're lazy.
00:55But what I truly believe is that as a Gen Z,
00:58we've grown up online.
01:00So we have abundant opportunities on how to make money
01:03through technology, through leverage.
01:05And it's obviously at our fingertips now.
01:07I totally agree that social media has created
01:10a bit of an unrealistic expectation.
01:12Like that's no lie.
01:13But that isn't to say that there isn't actual opportunities.
01:17And as a generation,
01:18we've decided that we do want more ways of freedom
01:21and that there's just more ways of us
01:23being able to live that life,
01:24which doesn't necessarily mean
01:26we have to go down the traditional route.
