00:58It's a 5 megapixel FaceTime HD camera.
01:02So you can take incredibly detailed selfies of you and your friends and their friends

01:09As you know, on the back side with our iSight camera, we have a great flash,
01:14the best in the industry.
01:15It's called the True Tone Flash.
01:17It takes flash pictures by matching the ambient light
01:20and giving you a more accurate flash lighting color in your photos.
01:23We wanted to bring that technology to the front side for your FaceTime camera.
01:27And of course, we realized, well, wait a minute.
01:29We already have a beautiful big LED backlit display.
01:32So we're going to use the retina display to be a retina flash.
01:36In fact, one that matches the ambient lighting color
01:38and can be a True Tone Flash to perfectly match your photos.
01:42And this took some amazing engineering from the team.
01:45Not only do we match the colors, but inside with the display chip,
01:49they've engineered it so that it will light up three times brighter
01:53when you need to use it for a flash.
01:55So in very low light, you get incredible flash photos from your FaceTime camera.
02:01So that's the FaceTime and iSight cameras and the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
02:06And you're going to love taking photos with them.
02:09The one thing about the photos, if you look over time,
02:12the camera team has been doing remarkable work year after year.
02:16We're increasing the sensors to make them more capable,
02:19adding autofocus pixels.
02:21We're improving the lenses to be even more sharp and aligned and accurate.
02:25We've got incredible image processing that's faster and lower power and on and on.
02:29with great features, auto HDR, burst mode, panoramas, on and on.
02:36And they all are in services delivering one thing, a beautiful picture.

02:41They're these magical moments just frozen in time
02:43that we can keep forever and share with our family and friends.
02:48And with iPhone 6S and 6S Plus,

03:13It's called live photos.
03:21This is remarkable.
03:22We can take photos just as we're used to,
03:25like this beautiful panorama or beautiful outdoor scene,
03:29and then you press on it,
03:31and you see the waters ripple,
03:33reminding you of the moment you took the photo.
03:36Or you have a street scene,
03:38beautiful sunlight,
03:39and you press on it,
03:41and the cars begin to move.
03:44And these live photos can have sound.
03:53When you go into your photo roll,
03:54and you swipe across them,
03:57you see a little bit of a moment of vitality,
04:00a sense of how alive they are.
04:02It's a beautiful experience,
04:04unlike any other way of interacting with photos.
04:07So how do you take a live photo?
04:09Well, that's the amazing part.
04:11You don't do anything different.
04:13You just take a photo as you always have,
04:16and it's the same beautiful high-resolution,
04:18now 12-megapixel photo.
04:20On top of the status bar,
04:22you see a new icon.
04:23Those three concentric circles lit up yellow.
04:25By default, it's on.
04:27You just take pictures,
04:28and now they're live photos.
04:31And when you're taking them,
04:32you get a small little indication that it's live,
04:34because it'll capture a second and a half
04:36on either side of the photo.
04:38These are still photos.
04:39They're not videos.
04:41They're 12-megapixel, high-quality,
04:43still images with all the incredible effects
04:45you want on a photo.
04:47But we extend the capture moment
04:49just before and just after you took it.
04:52And we do it in a space-efficient way
04:53so they don't take up much more room.
04:56And the teams have done an amazing job
04:58to support this across all of Apple's products.
05:00So you can watch live photos on OS X El Capitan.
05:03You can see them on your iPads.
05:05You can see them on your iPhones.
05:06And yes, you can see them on your Apple Watch.
05:08With the new photo face,
05:10you can set a live photo as your watch face.
05:13So every time you raise your arm,
05:14it comes alive,
05:16as it's telling you the time.
05:17This is amazing.

05:25We have so many developers
05:27that do an incredible job
05:29with photo support in their apps.
05:31We want to make sure they support live photos, too.
05:33So we're creating new developer APIs.
05:35And we've been working with some developers.
05:36Like Facebook will be supporting live photos
05:38within the Facebook app on iOS this year.
05:44So that's the new camera system.
05:48We also have incredible advancements
05:51in our wireless as well.
05:53LTE has LTE Advanced,
05:55so it's twice as fast.
05:57And there are 23 bands of wireless LTE networking.
06:00That's the most in any smartphone.
06:02In fact, it makes iPhone unquestionably the best phone
