00:00God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
00:01Bilal ibn Rabah (may God be pleased with him) was one of the greatest figures in the history of Islam.
00:08He was born in Mecca and was a slave before God honored him with the light of Islam.
00:14When he heard the call of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him
00:19He embraced Islam with a sincere heart and strong faith.
00:23But his conversion to Islam was not easy.
00:26He was subjected to the worst kinds of harm and torture at the hands of his masters because of his adherence to his religion.
00:33They would take him out into the intense desert heat and place heavy rocks on him.
00:39To force him to leave Islam
00:42However, Bilal (may God be pleased with him) remained steadfast and did not back down.
00:47He kept repeating the great and immortal phrase, "One, One."
00:52News of his suffering reached Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him.
00:57So he bought him and freed him for the sake of God Almighty.
01:00From that day on, a new chapter in Bilal's life began.
01:05A life filled with faith, pride, and dignity
01:08When Islam spread
01:11The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, chose Bilal to be the first muezzin of Islam.
01:17His beautiful voice resonated with the call to prayer.
01:20He calls Muslims to prayer and fills hearts with peace and faith.
01:25The story of Bilal (may God be pleased with him) has taught us that patience in upholding the truth leads to dignity and success.
01:33And that true faith is stronger than all difficulties
01:36His life story will be a light guiding Muslims to steadfastness, sincerity, and reliance on God.
01:43May God be pleased with Bilal ibn Rabah
01:46May God reward him with the best of rewards on behalf of Islam and Muslims.
