00:26Like, how are you feeling watching this season back?
00:29Because I feel like you, your journey has been interesting.
00:31I feel like we started out with some backlash,
00:33but we're starting to see some progression
00:34in how you are dealing with the Kristen postpartum journey.
00:38Yeah. So, I mean, first time dad, she's a first time mom.
00:42I know the empathy always goes one direction,
00:44which I'm fine with.
00:45It's just like, I really feel like I was doing everything I could
00:49towards, you know, with Kristen.
00:51And sometimes she doesn't know how to be happy either
00:54during postpartum.
00:55You know, it's like, she's figuring herself out.
00:56The hormones aren't in her control, the ups, the downs,
00:59and everything.
01:00So, you know, I spend the most time around her,
01:02so I experienced the most of it.
01:04Yeah.
01:04And how is it?
01:05Because of course now we're almost like a year.
01:07Almost a year.
01:08Yeah, which is super exciting.
01:09Three weeks out from Kaia's first birthday.

01:12How are we feeling now after like,
01:14almost like a full year of navigating this?
01:17It has gotten better.
01:19It's not back to it.
01:20I don't know if we'll ever be back to the way it was, you know,
01:22but like, we're finding our new identities.
01:24We're getting into some degree of a rhythm.
01:26It's definitely a lot better than it was at that time.
01:28I mean, we're three months into becoming new parents.

01:31When we started filming.
01:32I know, that is the craziest thing that you kind of have to be like,
01:34okay, we're back into the swing of everything.
01:36Yeah.
01:36Dealing with people.
01:37But almost I feel like maybe it was like,
01:39do you feel any of it was a blessing?
01:41Because it got you guys like out of the house and everything like that?
01:42Because I know that at the beginning of the season,
01:44that was an issue for you guys.
01:45Yeah.
01:46I mean, I've been trying to get her out of the house a lot more.
01:49And so having another, you know, some more people to help, help push,
01:52just like get up and move and see, move and groove.
01:55I don't know.
01:55It's, it's difficult, man.
01:58If you guys don't have kids.
01:59No, we do not.
02:00No, we are actually just saying today how like,
02:02we are not equipped for parenthood whatsoever.
02:05It seems like the toughest job on the planet, but I'm sure it's so rewarding.
02:09I love that you and Kristen are in a better place today.

02:13How did you get to a better place in space?
02:16A lot of it's time.
02:17A lot of it's, you know, conversations.
02:19It's some things just like work their way into a rhythm without having to have like the intent,
02:25like not necessarily the intent, but we wanted it to get there,
02:28but we didn't have an exact plan.
02:30Right.
02:30We didn't like line the stepping stones up across the river.
02:33We just found our way.
02:34We swam backwards, I guess, and got there.
02:36Yeah.
02:36So, yeah.
02:37And was any of it like, while filming this past season,
02:41did you guys ever have conversations of like seeing how some of the other couples operate
02:45and you're like, okay, well, we need to communicate better.
02:47So we don't end up like them.
02:49Cause I mean, a lot of eyes have been on Danny.
02:51I was going to say, I know who you're.
02:52Yeah.
02:52You know, um,
02:56we look at them as having a pretty healthy relationship aside from what you've been seeing.

03:01Wait, as in leading up to this, I mean, I was like,
03:03look, having one kid is stressful.
03:04I can't imagine having four kids.

03:13But I don't know if having four children substantiates the way he talks to me.

03:35And I, you know, I was just sitting there combing my hair with my dinglehopper.

03:59Is it as rocky for them as we've been watching so far?
04:03Well, I don't feel like the heat on Danny from the group of people that have put heat
04:10on him for the last year and a half ever lets up.
04:13So, regardless of his behavior, the heat stays on him.

04:16I think it's kind of crazy.
04:17Everyone's sort of like, how is, like, a broken clock could be right twice.
04:20Like, Jax Taylor saying, we're going to see the side of Danny that he's been alleging that
04:24was there.
04:25And then also Janet was saying is there, it's kind of hard to not see it.
04:30Sure.
04:31Broken clock's right twice a day.
04:32Yeah.
04:33You know?
04:33So, I mean, and you and Kristen have been close with Nia and Danny, and even in this
04:37latest episode, Lala does sort of, like, pose the theory that maybe it's not a friendship,
04:42maybe it's just kind of like an allyship or like an alliance.
04:48What do you make of that?
04:50I make that Kristen and I have spent a hundred to a thousand times more time with
04:54Danny and Nia than Lala has.
04:56Yeah.
04:56So, her statement carries a lot less weight than our experience with them.
04:59I see.

05:01And how was watching back the Lala and Danny's conversation in the morning after,
05:05when they were, when he was like apologizing to her and she was expressing her concerns
05:09to him?
05:10In confessionals, it seems like Danny sort of wrote those off.
05:13But what did you make of, like, the conversation they had?
05:16I think, I don't know if it seemed like they got to, they got to a better place in the
05:20conversation.
05:21And at the same time, I even told Kristen, I said, if, you know,
05:24we were having a little fight and Lala came and butted in, I would have told her to piss off
05:27because she's not part of this relationship.
05:30That's how I feel.
05:31And having spent so much time with Danny and Nia, what do you think viewers are missing
05:36about their relationship?
05:38Because it seems like you think that there really aren't any issues there?
05:42No, no.
05:43Everyone has issues.
05:44Kristen has issues.
05:45You know, anyone that looks perfect on camera absolutely has issues in the closet.

05:50So their closet doors just got knocked open, is what I think.

05:55You know, Danny and Nia are both great people.
05:57They're great parents.

05:59And what's been on display is definitely not their best.

06:06Nia's just trying to hold everything together and it seems very stressful for her.

06:10And it also seems like because a lot of the heat, what do you make of like, because like
06:17Michelle and Lala and kind of Brittany were saying that a lot of the heat Janet was getting
06:22was about calling out actions like this.
06:25And now that we're seeing it more on camera, do you feel like Nia and Janet could get to a
06:31better place of Janet, of them being like, okay, well, this is what I was talking about
06:36type of thing or no?
06:36Because she's able to kind of receive it from Lala because she's like, I don't like that
06:40Lala's butting in, but she's saying exactly what I'm feeling.
06:43What she's saying is kind of like what Janet has been saying.
06:47No, Janet takes things too far.
06:49Okay.
06:49So it's different.
06:50And like, I'm sorry, what happened on the boat, uh, the year before, right after getting
06:54engaged, like she was speaking on something she didn't even witness and exaggerating it
06:59to a point of being that basically defamation of Danny's character.
07:04What happened there?
07:05She did not witness has no idea and took it to a level no one else had and refuses to
07:09apologize for it.
07:09Right.
07:10So I'm not, I can't excuse her opinion when you're going to take it to legal terms.
07:15And it's something you didn't even witness.
07:17Yeah.

07:19I guess it is a little bit different in that way.
07:22But I mean, Danny's overall be like drinking and it being a bad look when he gets drunk
07:28is different than making some major craze.
07:31And Jasmine does seem to be truly over it too.

07:35And I think she was at the time that Janet kind of inflamed it as well, which makes the
07:39whole situation a little bit more complicated.
07:40I'm much closer with Jasmine and Melissa than I am with Janet and Jason.

07:45And I know they want it to go away.
07:47They wanted it to go away long before, like, you know.
07:52What did you think of Janet and Kristen's little peace pipe moment this season?
07:55Did it give you a glimmer of hope that things could one day get to a better place?
07:59Or do you feel like that friendship is like kaput?
08:02It's pretty kaput.
08:03Yeah.

08:04But the peace pipe moment, I mean, that's, that's, I don't know, what's the word for it?
08:10It was kind of just a moment where Janet wanted to smoke weed and Kristen knew where the lighter was.

09:14How is she doing today, like, with her confidence and self-esteem?
09:16Um, well, she has lost a lot of weight.
09:19Okay.
09:19She's much more confident.
09:20She likes how she looks in the mirror.

09:22And I've figured out how to hit on her.

09:27Um, I tell her how just how flat her butt's looking and she thinks it's, she smiles.

09:37And have you guys been able to kind of figure out fun ways to do date nights and stuff like
09:42that while navigating?
09:43Because I know that's really hard for a new parent.
09:44You know, date nights have, we had a little stretch of a few weeks where we were trying, kind of
09:49prioritizing them.
09:50Um, had one night, I'll admit, I had a little too much to drink.
09:56We got in a fight and then I didn't drink for two months after that.
09:58Wow.
09:59It wasn't anything like super dramatic, but it was enough that I looked back on it the next morning.
10:03Like I'm just not going to drink for a while.
10:05Good for you for kind of knowing that you had to recalibrate.
10:08Yeah.
10:09Yeah.
10:09And what was your takeaway after not drinking for a little bit?
10:12Like, what did you kind of like take away from that experience?
10:14Ah, you know, I've, I like slowly dabbled back into it.
10:18I had four in the course of those.
10:20The next month I had like four drinks, two glasses of wine when my mom was in town and
10:24then a beer with my brother-in-law, you know, like just started easing back into it.
10:28And then recently, uh, I drank enough.
10:32I was, I consider myself drunk and I'm like, you know what?
10:36I don't even need that anymore.
10:37Well, look at that.
10:38Oh, so you're taking a new pause from it?
10:39Not an entire pause, but like kind of like a two drink limit.
10:43Oh, yeah.
10:43So like if I start to feel it, I'm done.
