00:00I think I'll have a chicken biryani. Cheers.
00:10There you are. Hello, I'm Simon Calder and I'd like you to spend the next 48 hours
00:15with me here in Singapore, the city at the crossroads of the world. Tall, wobbly and
00:23a little bit scary. No, not me. I'm talking about the biggest, longest, highest
00:32treetop walkway in the whole of Britain.
00:43This feels so wild. I could be in the Rocky Mountains rather than quite
00:50close to Tunbridge Wells and in the flight path at Gatwick Airport. This
00:55really is the great outdoors. Why don't you follow me to the top of the
01:01Munster, the cathedral in this beautiful Swiss capital. That's about 200 steps.
01:10I thought I was at the top but obviously not. I better go before I get my head
01:15chopped off. And I must say this looks like a very good
01:20addition to the stocks of tourist attractions in beautiful Kent. I will
01:25think more about that. I welcome your views on it. But we've got to do something.
01:29Cheers.
01:3431 years old today. No, not me. What could possibly go wrong? Are you this person?
01:42I'm afraid I am. And I'm just going to hit proceed. Please wait. Do you own a long-term
01:50resident permit document from the EU? Sadly, no. I wish I did. You can lunch on a different
01:56cuisine every day for a month in Singapore. But when in little India, this is the Apollo
02:04banana leaf restaurant for reasons which will become clear. The speciality here is fish head curry.
02:12I think I'll have a chicken biryani.
02:16Tourists, I love them. And it's great to see so many of them here at London's tourism heartland,
02:23the South Bank. That should see you all right. Then all you need to worry about is the seagulls.
02:30I'm off on a trip called Norway in a nutshell, because that's what it is. Oh, and don't worry,
02:36I haven't just missed my train. Mine's a little red one here.
02:42I'm just having a pre-flight drink of water because I know that flying dehydrates.
02:51If you're lucky enough to have a cat, a dog or a ferret, and you live in Great Britain,
02:56and you want to take your animal to the European Union, the rules have changed. By the way,
03:04don't get a ferret.
03:07Well, they were good. I just had some very nice dumplings here in beautiful Warsaw,
03:14just outside the lovely old town. And I'm at Piec Smak Stare, a very nice outdoor restaurant.
03:23It isn't, but you're completely stuffed, as I was.
03:28I'm Simon Calder, just about to enjoy a Singapore swim.
03:32Thank you for sharing the last 48 hours in Singapore.
