02:13Bedrooms because that's really the next rooms that we can knock off with the house
02:16I am so proud of what we've been able to do with as KDS and the kind of work we've

02:21Yes, it's taken my eye off of our own farmhouse that I'm trying to renovate
02:25But I have been able to finish the living room dining room music lounge here
02:29I'm having to do it in phases to make sure I have enough time to put towards launching the new

02:41And I kind of have to because between construction costs labor materials the renovation insurance

02:54Yeah, it's gonna be such huge peace of mind when the exterior is all sealed. That's a huge
03:00Checkpoint on this project and this siding has been sitting in our front yard for two months

03:15Yep, a lot of changes. Isn't it great? This is our family room. This family room space was always kind
03:21of set up as a family room

03:32But it truly was an old porch that had been sort of insulated
03:37We always knew that this space was going to need a little bit more TLC
03:41It did however need more work than I had thought
03:44We ended up having to completely restructure all of the walls
03:49Because it turns out that there had been carpenter ants so we had to essentially rip down all of those
03:55walls that we thought we could work within
03:56And rebuild them in two by sixes and now with the new drywall and windows the space looks completely different
04:03The floor is leveled and most importantly it is properly insulated

07:30I want to create like a birdcage pendant light for his room
07:34So yes louie's rug is a giant

15:35Luckily the painting is moving ahead in the family room and josh's crew made quick work of the ceiling repairs

15:56He's got the smallest room in the house when you see this space. It's got this perfect little nook

34:46I am at the styling stage of my boy's bedrooms in the family room
34:50This room kind of feels like the motor
34:53Mid-century room in the house. It definitely is by and that is born out of the fact that a
34:59lot of this is furniture that I already had
35:02So the only new thing in this room is actually the closet and the queen bed frame
35:08Which is the perfect color of blue. It matches perfectly. Can we put that in its place?
35:13Oh, yeah, this is the major piece of flair for this room. I love it
35:18Shades I think is the right size, but it's too much flare on flare. That's fine. No one's done this
35:24yet. I can't believe no one
35:25The black makes sense because they've got black drapes
35:32I think the black's the winner. Yeah, and this actually will work perfectly in louie's room
35:36There's something about these spaces because it's where my boys are gonna sleep at night and it's their bedrooms
35:44That feels like a real imprint on this house as our home

35:54Louie's space is a little softer in its colorway
35:58It's a little bit more of a pastel take on primary colors
36:02Whereas Jack's is a little bit more true to primary colors
36:06So the two spaces are going to look very different but very

41:18I found the most inspirational image of a birdcage light and I tracked it down and it was
41:24$500 and so I was like this can't be so hard to do yeah

41:32Spray painted it white and then with some sticks from our property and these little clip-on birds instantly it
41:38becomes a birdcage light
41:39That's amazing. It's really taken on this playful
41:43Forest jungle. Yeah vibe in here without getting overly theme-y
41:51Really playful, but also really restful. Yeah running the firm and going back to work full-time is its own
41:57thing being a parent
41:58Renovating our own house in the background was maybe the straw that broke the camel's back for me this last
42:03couple weeks
42:04But there's something about channeling my energy for our boys
42:08This is where they're going to get to grow up. Yeah
42:10They're going to come back from university and college and visit us in these rooms right in the bunk beds
